Stayed just one night for a friend's bday and was very happy with my choice! The hotel and rooms do not have that traditional american hotel feel, it is more modern and european. I loved the large armchair in my room to curl up in, wish i could have taken it home! Very nice showers. Spa was nice as well. Didn't hang out at thebar or club on the roof […] but passed through and the design was beautiful. I wish the bed had been more firm, too soft for my taste but loved the nice sheets. Also could use more vegetarian options on the menu. I recommend for someone trying to escape daily grind or planning a romatic weekend. Читати далі

Had a great visit at the Dana Hotel. All the staff there is extremely friendly, always saying hello every time I passed. The bed was really comfortable. The only downsides were that it seems like there aren't enough elevators for this hotel. I always had to wait for one. When trying to go out at night I waited 10 minutes for an elevator.

I really enjoyed the Dana. One of the better and cooler hotels I've stayed in. Loved the distressed cement ceilings, the hardwood floors and general layout of the rooms. The Dana is a great place that I stay at a few times a year, but they are starting to slip on the details. Bathroom door is a rolling door...our door wouldn't stay shut. The hotel itself reminds me of really nice 5 star hotels in Europe's finest cities. Great beds, linens, and showers. Very friendly staff and the fastest room service I've ever ordered. The Dana is conveniently located about 3 blocks from Michigan Avenue in the Magnificant Mile. Very nice European style hotel. Like the hardwood floors in the rooms. Clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay at the Dana again.

Me and my boyfriend visited the hotel between April 3 to the 5th. We liked how close the hotel was to downtown, how friendly the staff was, and how clean the rooms were. The hotel staff was very helpful when having to take care of our luggage as well as answering any questions we may have had. It ended up that I forgot a couple items in my room and […] upon calling I was taken care of right away. The price of the hotel room wasn't too bad however the $44/day parking adds up. My advice is to look around for another garage with overnight rates between $25 and $30/day. The hotel has a great gym and lounge! An amazing hotel with great beds, modern rooms with glass showers for that romantic touch. Perfect location close to all the hot clubs and restaurants. Will stay again and again.

We stayed at the Dana for 3 nights. The staff was excellent - especially the front desk, the doorman and the chef at the restaurant. The food was creative, delicious, and fresh. (In fact, The bouillabaisse was fantastic.) There is certainly some serious talent in the kitchen. The hotel was a real surprise for me. Some of the reviews by other guests were as usual accurate. The rooms with the balconies are small but adequate for a single or couple. However, the balcony is a bonus. The downside to these rooms is the noise factor, especially in the early hours of the morning. But honestly, there are no hotels in the downtown […] area that can escape city noise: trains, fire trucks, ambulances, cars etc. It just goes with the territory. The hotel had a LOT of unique touches: free wireless (smart of them to do this when almost all hotels charge hefty fees), a cooler that you don't have to concern yourself with moving something and being charged for it. Some people might find the glass shower wall opening into the bed room to be "revealing", but like I said this room is small and suitable for a single guest. The biggest plus for me was the health club facilities - exceptionally nice for a hotel. Great equipment. The location of this hotel cannot be beat. There are several grocery stores within easy walking distance, a bank across the street, and so many restaurants to choose from. It is an easy walk north to Chicago avenue and over to Water Tower. I would also add that the staff and restaurant personnel are very attentive to your needs. Food at the hotel is actually priced reasonably for downtown Chicago. Great location. 3 minutes to Michigan Ave. We had a comfy King with a superb view of Downtown Chicago. The room was small but we did not need more space since we were most of the time out. We really enjoyed our stay at the Dana. Very clean room, nice modern design that was perfect for couples. You have to take advantage of the Spa! The hotel was also within a quick walk of almost everything: Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, Michigan Avenue, Wacker Street, Chicago Tours, the Library, the movies, the Water Tower, etc. Was also a quick cab ride […] to the Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum, and Soldier Field. The only down side was the TV. The IPG was confusing, and the channel selection was weak. Serves them right for going with a Satellite provider. However, between spending time with each other, and trips in and around the city, we didn't watch much TV. Overall, a very good hotel choice. Would definitely go back there again and again. Only one issue was that the shower leaked badly and would dump gallons of water out onto the floor so we had to go through all of the towels every time we showered.

The heating/AC unit in my room sounded like a jack hammer. The maintenance man told me that was normal. Changed room - much better. TV remote didn't work - shower flooded bathroom floor light were dim The staff was great but the hotel needed a sprucing up

This place is intended to cater to young hipsters---the shower had a glass wall so you could look in the shower while in the room (it had a curtain you could pull to close), which was interesting except you could also see if someone was on the toilet, so just a bit weird.... I wish I could efford to stay in this hotel more often, not just in February when the rates are lower. I live just a block from the Dana, and when I have friends and relatives come to town, I always recommend the Dana, and it has always been a good experience. Everyone raves about how much fun they have at the rooftop bar, "Vertigo".

Was not disappointed with the hotel. Great position, easy to find. Staff helpful particularly the doormen, who gave some good suggestions for restaurants, and places to visit. Very comfortable bed. Great shower, never used one as good as that before. Good products in the bathroom. Great view from the the window, even had a small balcony.

The best part is the very comfortable beds. As you'll note in other reviews, the large shower has a window completely exposing the shower area and toilet. While there is a semi-transparent curtain, its control is on the bedroom side rather than on the inside of the bathroom shower. The staff are pleasant and helpful. We were stopped from using the ground […] floor elevator each night by the club personnel. That fact made no sense to me since we were hotel guests with room keys. There are plenty of restaurants and things to do in the area. We enjoyed off-broadway theatre as well as a couple movies during our four-night stay. As long as the price was right, we'd return. the Dana is my favorite Chicago hotel wehn traveling for business. they are very accomodating and the staff from the front door men to the concoerge to the front desk personnel are all fantastic.
