Hotel stay was great once in our hotel. Location, less than desirable near Roma Termini Train station. we witnesed a handbag snatching only metres from our hotel, so didnt always feel safe. Pillows also were ordinary - very flat and soft - but this is a personal thing

Hotel staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good quality. Room was a bit cramped, although we did check in very early and that was the only room available. So can't complain too much. Location was only 10 min walk to Colliseum.

Best value for the money and the hotel is beautiful and the staff are amazing. Neighbourhood felt a bit dodging but unless you are willing to pay exurberent amounts to be closer to the tourist sites; this is your best bet. Quick 20min walk to the Roman Coliseum. Clean hotel. Nice area outside for breakfast if weather is good or just relaxing,. Also a nice roof terrace. Very helpful and polite staff. Walk to buses, trams and Metro. Surrounding area not great but good value for money and most importantly - clean!

The hotel was nice but it was not worth the 4 star rating that it was given - we stayed in room 102 and there were no drawers to put your clothes in and the wardrobe was very small. Also, the bathroom was very dirty and dated and need to be replaced. Location was great and other reviewers concerns about the area are totally unfounded,despite graffiti this area is perfectly safe at night. Hotel was extremely clean and well presented , only small gripe would be that the rooms could be a bit bigger but as you're not there to stay in the room it didn't matter that much.

My girlfriend and I stayed in The Best Roma Hotel for 3 nights. The Hotel is situated well enough and all of Rome's major sites and places to visit are easily accessible from the Manzoni metro station located just around the corner. Easy access to train station (Roma Termini) which is 2 stops on subway (5 minute walk), or a few stops on tram that runs right on the same street. A number of restaurants in the area as well. NOT 4 Star quality. 2 feet of room to move around the foot of the bed, wallpaper is bubbled, cracks in the walls, distressed corners of the room, chipped plaster, a very ugly room overall. Very tiny shower - there is zero elbow room. The breakfast is subpar-pastries are not fresh made-Coffee/Espresso machine makes a good brew half of the time. We asked […] the hotel for a different room-which was a bit more relaxed. We got ants in the bathroom after the first night. There are 2 helpful guys that work at the front desk - and there are 2 that are not so adept. You will know which ones. Choose another hotel - there are plenty for a good price. I'm not sure why this hotel has a good rating, because it is dirty, dingy, uncomfortable beds, tiny tv with very few channels and poor breakfast selection. Small bathroom, handheld bidet, faucet was wobbly, towels were old, and shower head had mildew in it (also saw a pube in the shower head, nasty).. The maids asked us to leave the room so that they could clean it before 12noon. The images relating to the hotel are deceiving-only two rooms look like that-I asked - they are the 3 person rooms. There are only three rooms with bathtubs. They didn't put hypoallergenic beddings and they DO NOT provide bathrobes or slippers as it says on their listing. The windows do provide some dampening of the trolleys that go by, but not much. The area for food service is really cramped. And you have to pay for wi-fi which is ridiculous for a 4 Star. Good location, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced. There are some good restaurants around the corner in Viale Manzoni and public transport is close by (tram stop 2 minutes, bus to Collosseo and other central areas less than 10 minutes). Will happily stay there again when we next visit Rome.

A nice clean hotel in a slightly rundown area of Rome, but convenient for Termini station and transport connections. Our room was small but adequate and modern. Front desk staff exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. Buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful. Altogether excellent value for money.

Had a pleasant stay in this Hotel for first time in Rome. Located well for access to public transport and if you like walking within reach of some of Rome's great sights. The interior decor of the room was very elegant and had a romantic feel. We had checked into another hotel our first night and decided to walk around the corner to chesk out our second nights lodging to hotel best roma. The clerk that night not only recommended a restaurant but called them and a waiter came to the hotel to walk us to the restaurant. A great little Hotel with rooms fitted out beautifully (rooms a bit small but you dont go to Rome to to stop in your hotel room). We found the location really good near to termini rail station (take the 105 bus or tram and get off on the 3rd stop, the hotel is about 200 m in the same direction as the bus/tram continue. We walked to the colosseum and […] Roman Forum about 1000m (wear good walking shoes in Rome) even at night to see it lit up. There are 3 good resteraunts within 200m of the hotel and we dined in these every night so just a short walk back to the hotel. We had breakfast out side in the rear yard which was lovely and on one occasion when we came back to the hotel late afternoon the sun was still hot so lay out on the roof terrace with bottle of wine and some olives bliss!! Having stayed in another hotel in Florence, and having seen others in the city, Hotel Best Roma was a fantastic hotel. While not large, everything was meticulously clean and well maintained. There is a great restaurant around the corner (Reds Restaurant) that we went to every night, and the 24 hour front desk made sure we didn't have to worry about […] when we came back. The neighbourhood was quieter than most places, and the subway was close by (a 5 minute walk) making it easy to get around the city. Breakfast was great (cereals, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses and meats, croissants and other pastries, and various coffees/juices) and gave us a good boost to the day. They have 3-hour internet access for around 7 euro (may change since this was written), and a shop that sells calling cards and internet just 2 doors down. The man at the desk was always helpful and knowledgeable, offering up where to go, what to do, and how to get there (he seemed to have the entire bus schedule and numbers memorized). It has been recently refurbished and in good, clean condition, the staff were helpful and a good continental breakfast was provided. Awful hotel. The room was so tiny, the bed almost touched the front door! the website states that bathrobes, slippers etc are provided. They don't. When we arrived (after midnight) the evening receptionist was sleeping and took about 10 minutes to open the front door. He was rude and told us to "just go" to our room when we asked for maps. There was […] no kettle and the air conditioning took ages to work. The bathroom was fine. The hotel is about a 10/15 minute walk from the metro station so not too convenient. The receptionist/manager during the day was really helpful however and showed us where to go and how to get there. The only good thing about this hotel is the restaurant around the corner called Red - fabulous food. The local area was safe but looks intimidating - graffiti everywhere. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel and would suggest staying closer to the centre in the Spagna or Flaminio area perhaps. Located about 20 minutes walk from the Colosseum and 5 from the nearest Metro station, ideal spot to be located for a Roman holiday. Hotel appears to be in a 'rough' area as there's graffiti on many walls in the area, but as you travel around Rome, you'll find just about any stationary object will get written on. Hotel look s to have been recently renovated as everything is really clean, staff friendly and very helpful, room small but large enough to chill out (if you don't fancy sitting in the garden) Cleaner is very thorough, everything is cleaned and bedding / towels changed daily. Plenty of tratorria's close by, or a couple of supremarkets if you fancy doing your own thing, sitting in the garden with a bottle of wine, some bread, cheeses and ham in the evening is really good. Not too far from the train station (Roma Termini); long walk with suitcases but its far better to take the subway (2 stops and walk 3-4 blocks). The area does not look the greatest but it is safe and the hotel is amazing! Just awesome to sip wine and relax after a long day of sight seeing. Once you get there, it's an excellent location from which to get around Rome; use the subway pass but note that it's not a full 24 hour day! Buy it Sunday evening and it expires Wednesday morning not Wednesday evening as you would expect. Front desk was exceptionally helpful and Giancarlo (?) went out of his way to recommend many restaurants and transportation details. On our date of departure, there was a wildcat strike by the train staff in Rome; the Front Desk caught wind of this and arranged for a shared van with other guests to get to the airport. We made our flight but others may have been late or stressed! Great job helping us by hotel staff. Breakfast was good; hard boiled eggs, cheese and bread. May not be the breakfast of champions but it was enough to keep us going until dinner or a later dinner if we had a midday snack. Fantastic value for the money; I'd go back in an instant. Bit out of the way, but a very acceptable hotel. Great staff, very nice room, everything was clean and looked good. En-suite bathroom was good, the AC worked fine, and we enjoyed our stay there.

We stayed at Hotel Best Roma from July 9 - 11, 2010. We arrived early, and our room was not ready, but they did get it ready for us before the 3:00 PM check-in time, while we went out to lunch. The hotel is very close to Termini, the main train station, so it is a great place to stay if you are travelling to other cities by train, like we were. There […] is also another metro station, even closer, so it is convenient for metro travel for sightseeing. The hotel is not right in the touristy spots, which I kind of liked; although it is within walking distance to the Colosseum, Forum, and art museum, and an easy metro ride to the Vatican. The room was small, but well-updated and very clean. The bathroom was also quite small, but we expected this. The bathroom also appeared to be recently renovated and clean. There is a TV in the room, and it actually gets an English channel (BBC), which is nice. They offer a free continental style breakfast, and the hotel has WiFi available, although you have to pay for it (7 euros for 3 hours, I think), and the hotel gets passwords from an outside service provider. When we were there, they had run out of passwords. The staff said they could get us a password later, but we didn't bother. Overall, I thought it was a great place to stay.
