The place generally needs a bit of TLC and a good scrub. Grubby walls, loose bits on furniture and a bit of a musty smell point to a general lack of attention in recent times. It doesn't cost the hotel much and it's wonderful to just not have to worry about having that extra bottle of water or drinking a coke. Easy walking distance to the beach. Great staff, particularly Boya, at the excursion desk. Buffet breakfast had ample choices. Our balcony looked out onto another building but we still enjoyed sitting outside. I think the hotel is gradually updating it's rooms.

The Sugar Palm is a good budget hotel....unfortunately it is showing a few signs of wear and tear BUT they were upgrading/repairing certain things whilst I was staying there. We stayed here for 12 nights in total- 2 stays of 6 nights with a break in between. Our first room was a pool access and although it was very convienent to have the pool right outside the door I dont think its worth the extra money. The room needed a good scrub and a lick of paint but it was perfect if you're not OCD about clenliness (I am). The room […] was also a little noisey with people jumping into the pool at 2am but the only happened on 2 nights. Our 2nd room was on the top floor, was much cleaner and was much quieter. The best thing about this hotel is that the location is close to the beach. You pretty much just cross the street, walk 100 yards, and you are on the beach. There isn't very good shopping in Kata but you can go up to Karon or Patong for that. The hotel staff was very nice and willing to help in any way. Most of the staff spoke decent English but there […] were a few people who hardly spoke any at all. My only complaints were that there was no hot water for showers. It was luke warm, but definitely not hot. Also, my room's balcony faced the street and you could hear noise all night long; there was always music playing on the street. I stayed in room 3112, so maybe it was just were my room was located in the hotel. The breakfast was worth paying the few extra dollars. Overall, this was a great place to stay. The hotel in just across the street from the beach which is great and not what we expected. Very convenient to shops and restaurants.BUT here is our story with the service.We arrived at the hotel quite late and were not well welcome by any staff. We were asked to give them confirmation paper,which we dint print out but wrote down the confirmation # […] but was not accepted.We had to try to get online,luckily we carried out laptop.We forwarded the confirmation email to their computer right in front of us and them and they print it out,took about 15-20 minutes. Got checked in with no information informed about anything.We were so tired and thought we would ask them tomorrow but it turn out we didnt even want to be in contact with them anymore.I work in a hotel business as well so i might just have a high expectation from the money i paid for for a good service. The room we got is upstair from their restaurant,facing shops and massage places .We had to close our shade at all time for a little privacy.Music from the street last til midnight or so.The room is run down. This hotel looked much nicer in the online photos than it actually was. We had to argue for 3 breakfasts despite bkfst being included in the price & third bed was an uncomfortable cot despite pre-registering as 3 guests. Room smelled musty & there was obvious mold in the shower, room also not as clean as it could have been on arrival & after housekeeping […] visits. Spa unavailable due to lack of staff. Had a terrible incident in hotel restaurant where a staff member ignored a request & upon our questioning his attitude, he subsequently threatened (in Thai understood by my friend & English which the rest of us understood) and used physical intimidation (hand in face, knocking arm) to one of our group!!!!! In compensation, we got a free lunch... staff member lost 3 days work but should have been fired I think! In all, this hotel was definitely not worth the money they are charging & unless you get nice weather, it is difficult & expensive to do anything but beach at Kata. Читати далі

For the price it s the best i have ever had. The staff is very nice and helpfully, you have free internet, the decoration and style is very nice aswell, you are less than 100 m from the beach and from a great surf spot.

We loved staying at the Sugar Palm, the employees were so helpful and kind, upgraded my room and we felt safe in this location. We were across the street from Kata beach it was a great location, also close to many restaurants. The breakfast buffet had many choices and was tasty. This is one of two or three top hotels on this part of Kata Beach. It's an easy 2 minute walk to the beach where you can sit on a chair with umbrella for $3. avec une réservation avec un lit, nous avons 2 lits en arrivant, après réclamation et en précisant que c’était pour un voyage de noce, nous avons eu une chambre surclassée avec un accès direct à la piscine et internet sur la tv (quand ça marche!!!) restaurant sympa et vraiment pas cher, note moyenne pour 2 avec boisson 800-1000 baht

ビーチまですぐ、周囲にコンビニやレストランをはじめ土産物屋なども多く便利なロケーション。 部屋もクリーンに保たれており、大変リーズナブル。 スタッフが無愛想なのと、対応が遅いのに目を瞑れば安く快適に過ごせるホテル。

God fitnesscenter. Pool virkede ikke hvilke var ret surt. Dette burde give et nedslag eller gratis morgenmad. Maden på stedet er i den meget dyre ende og prøvede en thairet der ikke burde koste det halve af hvad den gjorde. Ellers god service og liger meget centralt hvis man er til fest og farver.

从酒店出来走几分钟就可以到海边，位置很好也很方便，卡塔海滩比巴东那边海水的颜色要好，人也比较少，适合度假。只是这边大多数都是外国人，中国人就很少，吃饭也都是西餐。

道を渡ればすぐカタビーチへ出られます。向かいのカタビーチリゾート前に、ソンテウ乗り場があり、バイクやレンタカーなどを借りなくても、30バーツでカロンビーチやタウンへ移動できます。ホテル自体は、スタッフも丁寧で仕事が早く、良い印象を受けましたし、お部屋も綺麗にメンテナンスされていて、備品も揃っているので快適に過ごせました。併設のMALI Restaurantも綺麗で日本食も食べれるので、割と満足です。あえて難点を上げるならば、シャワーヘッドが固定で使い難いことと、熱い湯が出難い事と、freewifiの接続状況が宜しくないことですね。（これらは西洋人向けホテルの多いカタビーチ全体に言える事かもしれませんが．．．）

Все понравилось, был номер делюкс с видом на бассейн, такой и бронировали. Живности никакой в номере не было, хотя несколько комариков залетали, берите фумигатор, но отеля это не касается, комарики везде. Убирали чисто, пляжные и банные полотенца меняли каждый день, белье меняли 1 или 2 раза за 11 дней, не напрягало. Питание на завтрак однообразное […] и выбор небольшой, фрукты - арбуз, папайа, ананас, иногда глаз дракона, вполне прилично, утром этого достаточно. В ресторане при отеле "Мали" для проживающих скидка 10% по меню, не распространяется на напитки и морепродукты. Расположение шикарное до Ката ной идти 10-15 минут, до Ката 2-3 минуты, до Карона можно пешком за 20-25 минут дойти или от отеля на тук-туке доехать, если на мотике, то вообще все очень близко) Для детей не видела развлечений, но есть мелкий бассейн-джакузи, там куча малышей всегда плещется. Персонал исключительно англоговорящий, по русски не понимают) Wi-Fi бесплатно на всей территории, в номере бесплатный бар ежедневно, всегда пополняют, фен, утюг - все есть, сами в номер все приносят и забирают. Есть халаты в номере, их тоже меняют, если кинуть с полотенцами на пол. Ехать в отель советую, очень неплох) Заселение в 14.00, расчет в 12.00, уезжали в 18 из отеля, вещи в 12.00 вынесли и сдали им на хранение, погуляли -покупались, нам выдали плотенца, в отеле есть общие душевые, приняли душ, спокойно забрали вещи с хранения и в аэропорт. デラックスルームを予約しましたが、部屋に掛けてある絵もセンスがないし、ソファはとてつもなく硬いしどこがデラックスなのか全くわかりませんでした。口コミもそんなに悪くはなく結構高い料金だったので、部屋でのんびり過ごすのもいいかなと思っていましたが、部屋は蚊だらけ、シーツも変な臭いがして、ゆっくり部屋で過ごすようなホテルではありませんでした。ハイシーズンということで普段の何倍の料金なのか知りませんが、支払った料金に見合うサービスや部屋、食事にはありつけませんでした。

ホテルの雰囲気、立地、設備など満足いくものでした。ただ、事前に空港からの送迎をお願いしていたにもかかわらず、誰も来ず、親切な人がホテルに電話してくれたところ、自分たちで来るように言われ、ホテルに到着しても一言もお詫びが無かった点が不満です。スタッフにサービスを求めないような方には、良いホテルだと思います。

ホテルは値段のわりにとてもキレイです。近くにはコンビニ、レストラン、マッサージ屋 など何でもそろってます。ビーチまでは徒歩２，３分でいけます。レンタカー、レンタルバイクもホテルで手配できます。日本語は話せるスタッフがいませんが親切な方ばかりでした。また利用します。

Im Internet wirklich ansprechende Fotos vom modernen, neuen Hotel In der Realität ist das Hotel jedoch schon ziemlich baufällig. Die Schränke und Möbel im Zimmer sind einfach zusammengeschraubte Sperrholzplatten, die man schwarz angemalt hat. Das Zimmer roch nach modrigem Holz wegen der hohen Luftfeuchtigkeit. Die Zimmer werden von der Putzfrau nur […] notdürftig gereinigt, Tote Mücken liegen Tagelang an der gleichen Stelle im Bad. Fenster und Spiegel werden ebenfalls nicht gereinigt. Badarmaturen rosten. Fliesen fallen ab. Wir hatten das Zimmer im EG mit Poolzugang. Sämtliche Balkonbrüstungen bereits rostig, ebenso die Nägel, mit denen die Holzplanken um den Pool genagelt wurden. Müll oder schmutziges Geschirr (wenn man Essen auf`s Zimmer bestellt) bleibt Tagelang vor der Tür oder rund um den Pool liegen. Das Frühstück ist zum abgewöhnen. Frisches, geschnittenes Obst wird unter verdreckten, klebrigen Acrylhauben angeboten. Auf den Buffettischen tummeln sich Ameisen (da der Frühstücksraum halb im Freien ist) und Bienen in der Marmelade. Wo man geht und steht alles ungepflegt, rostig, unhygienisch und kaputt. Nie wieder Sugar Palm, nie wieder Phuket- einfach to muche, diese vielen Touristen und die zubetonierte, zugemüllte Insel. Nichts für Tier- und Naturliebhaber. Rummen är katastrofala, sängar hårda som sten, mögel i badrum och fullt med myror. Hotellet är gammalt och slitet och ser tyvärr inte så fint ut som på bilderna längre. Efter mycket om och men fick vi byta rum då vi hade ett helt myrbo i vårt och i det nya rummet var det mycket färre myror, men de fanns där ändå. Dessutom fanns det stora mögelfläckar […] i badrummet som de hade målat över med vanlig målarfärg och det stank alldeles mögligt och fuktigt. Det var så fuktigt att från det att vi packade upp våra kläder blev de fuktiga på en gång och fortsatte att vara det tills vi åkte därifrån, ingenting torkade. Poolen var alltid smutsig, var renare att bada i havet. 4 av 6 datorer som man får låna gratis, var trasiga. Personalen är inte heller särskilt tillmötesgående, de flesta förstår inte ens engelska och ringer du till receptionen och ber om nånting och de inte förstår dig, slänger de på luren. NEGATIF : Le restaurant où on prend le petit déjeuner est mal placé. Beaucoup de bruit de la rue, voitures, etc. Mais vu la configuration de l'hôtel, je ne vois pas où ils auraient pu le faire ! La première douche a été froide, je ne sais pas pourquoi car les autres jours j'ai toujours eu de l'eau chaude. Le problème aussi est que ce n'est pas un pommeau […] qu'on peut prendre pour se doucher, il est fixe. Or, quand on ne veut pas se laver les cheveux, ce n'est pas très pratique. La pression n'était pas non plus énorme. Puis, j'ai la chaîne TV5 monde qui ne marchait plus le dernier jour. POSITIF : Sinon, rien à redire, j'en garde un super souvenir et les photos sont conformes à ce qu'on trouve ! Grande chambre bien décorée, balcon, vu sur la piscine design, bon aménagement, baignoire où on peut mater la tv si on veut, écran plat, service de chambre impeccable (le baggagiste a réparé ma valise cassée lors d'un transfert en bateau), ils nous servent une boisson à notre arrivée, super grand lit confortable, rideau bien occultant le jour, clim efficace et pas trop bruyante, mini bar, safety box, emplacement de l'hotel pratique et très proche de la plage (100 m). Ett fint hotell med bra service. Ngt hårda sängar, men sov bra ändå. Gratis trådlöst internet om man har med sig egen dator. Annars finns det ett gäng datorer vid entrén också. Två flaskor gratis vatten om dagen ingår i rummet. Även Badhanddukar, hårfön och paraplyn finns att tillgå under vistelsen. Roomservicen fungerar också väldigt bra.
