Somewhat apprehensive having read previous reviews, however, our experience was very positive. Staff very efficient and helpful, hotel was quite elegant and room was up to expectations.

The hotel was nice, I wouldn't call it a 5 star, but it was certainly nice. Not a far walk from the grand bazaar and lots of shops around. I heard it gets a little sketchy to walk around at night, we mostly took cabs (they were cheap). Next time we would stay in NISHANTASHI or Besiktas as it was a little nicer area. Most of the Receptionist were nice except one or two that i have come accross as not very friendly, the remaining staff were very helpfull . Excellent location and service ( bath Towels were slightly over-used), the Turkish bath experience was enjoyable, the hotel is a walking distance from most important locations, bazars and museums, tram service […] is round the corner and cafes are all around, it was an enjoyable life time experiance and would recomend this hotel for it's proximety and unique location and also its cleanliness and good service. We chose this "american style hotel because we assumed the room would be large and the bedding consistent with a 5 star hotel. The room was small. The bathroom was very small. The bedding was not so comfortable. Our second stay we were put into a much larger room and that was greatly appreciated.

I only stayed one night (unfortunately) as I was travelling from Istanbul to Kayseri, Turkey, but it was one night of bliss. After a 17 hour flight from the states, the Turkish Hamam was a delight. We had to make a local phone call from our room to the travel agent approximatly 10 city blocks away from the hotel that lasted for 20 minutes. Our bill for this single phone call was 45TL that amounts to $30. This was a rip off.

You can't really be close to everything in Istanbul because the city is so huge and there are so many things to see. As far as being close to some of the main attractions, this place is about as good as anything. There are some hotels in slightly nicer areas, but this area is just fine. The hotel is excellent. The breakfast is very, very good. The […] WIFI didn't work well in the rooms; really at all, because I was on the top floor. I was there for business, so this was sort of irritating. Seems like they were having a problem with the WIFI during that time and they do not normally. Even though it's in a very nice location, it is sort of complicated to get to... even for Turkish taxi drivers. I would recommend that the hotel give out a notepad sized piece of paper with clear and understandable instructions in Turkish and English to each hotel guest. This needs to include something that defines how to get to the hotel from a MAJOR landmark close to the hotel that any taxi driver would know. Sounds petty, but I assure you that this is important. I had 4 taxi drivers get completely lost trying to find this place, not to mention my Turkish partner trying to find it. This hotel was an excellent choice. The location is perfect, close to all the major sights. Convenient transportation is in front of the door. Service was excellent. The morning breakfast is tasty and abundant. Fresh perked coffee would be more appreciated instead of instant coffee. Conveniently located, comfortable rooms, free amenities such as internet/gym/pool, and decent service. There were minor issues about the room, which were all addressed within an hour.

The hotel lobby is gorgeous, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Lots of scrumptious options. The room was small, but clean and charming. The bed wasn't very comfortable - but I was so exhausted from sightseeing it didn't matter. The location is good- you can walk (uphill) to the Grand Bazaar in about 10 minutes. Or, you can take the trolley which […] is really easy and cheap. In 20 minutes you can take the same road to the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. My only complaints would be that the common areas were not very well-airconditioned, and the staff wasn't too good when booking our dinner cruise on the Bosphorus (payment confusion and package confusion - when we arrived on the boat they said we hadn't paid for the package, and they didn't know we order the "with alchohol" cruise). This hotel is excellent and I definitely recommend it to anybody who wants to stay here! The hotel itself is beautiful, the lobby is gorgeous and the rooms are excellent! The location of the hotel is also phenomenal, within about a block from the tram which is the […] most convenient way to get around the city for just 1.50 lira, and not to mention the hotel is located on one of the most important roads in the city, added to that is that it is so close to everything really, being about a 15 minute walk from the Grand Bazaar and maybe 25 minutes or so from Ayasofya and the Blue Mosque, but still managing to be in a pleasant neighborhood. The hotel staff are for the most part quite friendly, mainly the bellboys and the restaurant people who were the nicest people who worked at the hotel. Some of the front desk people were a bit rude. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast there since it was 33 lira per person a day if it's not included in your rate. Apart from that, no complaints, excellent hotel and we stayed here for a number of nights and everything went smoothly. Fantastic hotel! Note- for some reason, some taxi drivers seem to not be familiar with the hotel, so make sure you provide them with the address. The hotel appears to be fairly new, with the interior quite impressive. The double volume foyeris a must see! The room that I had was very small, but we made the best of being in a great location. Our room was located on an upper 3rd floor (which required usto take the elevator to the 3rd floor, and then take a carpeted staircase to our room). All other […] rooms in the hotel are much larger. The breakfast was adequate, and good value for money. We did not have lunch or dinner at this hotel. There was a water leak in our shower, which I made the reception aware of. The same evening, the Engineering team attended to it, and ensured that we were happy with the workmanship. The pool/gym/sauna was immaculate, which we used regularly throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but ensure that you stay in a room on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors to ensure that you do not get this tiny room on the upper 3rd floor. Читати далі

Perfect place to stay. Great rooms, great indoor swimming pool with steam room, dry sauna, weight room that overlooks the swimming pool and "Hamam", great location--just two blocks from the tramway that will take you everywhere for $1.00, from the Blue Mosque, to Taksim. This hotel was very, very nice, but it's in the textile/clothing district which is not very interesting for strolling. It is walking distance of the Grand Bazaar but an hour of that place is enough for a lifetime. I had a WONDERFUL kese (scrub) and "soap massage" in the very lovely haman (Turkish Bath) that scrubbed away my 17 hours of flight time however. […] Next time I will either stay in the Sultanahamet/Topkapi area, which has all the charming cafes and lighted trees etc for evening strolls or a place on the Marmara for the view. Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in March 2009. The location is excellent, withi easy walk of Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar etc. Our room was beautiful and very spacious, although friends of ours were on the top floor and the rooms there were much smaller. One of the best hotels I have stayed in!

I am a single female and this hotel was so wonderful for me. I felt safe and totally pampered. It was a very quiet hotel but glamorous with all the marble. It felt like staying in a fancy mall sort of. There are high end shops in the lobby that serve the street as well. The neighborhood was perfect right in front of a tram stop and only a few minutes […] walk to all the main sights in Sultanhamet. This isn't really the kind of place you enjoy the bar or restaurant because they don't seem to get much traffic. The restaurant is pretty but it's on the ground floor as opposed to a rooftop view. The best part was the spa. I loved the steam bath, sauna, gym (nice music) and the pool. The pool has a fabulous lighting display that was so pretty to watch as I was on the treadmill looking out. There is a Turkish bath which is free to use but a massage is extra. The only thing I would suggest is that you request a room on the first block (same as spa) otherwise you have to walk across the lobby when you leave the spa if you are in any other block. I prefer to shower in my room so it was a little embarrassing walking across with wet hair and in shorts... Everyone was so nice to me. When they put you in a taxi they write down the taxi plate so you have recourse if the driver tries to cheat you. Highly recommended. Читати далі

Leider hat sich eine grosse Enttäuschung eingestellt. Wir haben unsere Postkarten an der Rezeption abgegeben und für das Porto ca. 15 Euro bezahlt. Bis heute ist keine dieser Karten angekommen. Wir müssen davon ausgehen, dass diese gar nicht abgeschickt wurden. Ansonsten fühlten wir uns im Hotel Crown Plaza sehr wohl und auch die Lage so Nahe der Sehenswürdigkeiten […] ist super. L'hôtel est très bien situé. Non loin du vieux quartier que l'on peut joindre en 5 mns en prenant le tramway juste devant l'hotel. L'hôtel est très beau. Particulèrement les halls. Nos chambres n'étaient pas très grandes mais très confortables. Vue sur une verrière - donc pas de vue. Mais de ce fait très calmes. A ne pas sous estimer quand on n'est […] dans une ville aussi animée qu'Istanbul. Petite piscine en sous sol, détail qui est peut être sympathique quand on revient d'une bonne journée de ballade! Les petits déjeuners, copieux, sont servis dans un patio magnifique. Le personnel est plutôt serviable, sans plus. Je vous recommande cet hôtel! Lage ist nicht optimal: Nur Grand Basar ist nahe, sonstige Sehenswürdigkeiten nur mit überfüllter, heißer Straßenbahn zu erreichen. Frühstück ist kläglich: Am ersten Tag wenigsten Spiegeleier und gegrillte Tomaten, am zweiten Tag nur noch Omelett mit viel Käse drin. Wurst/Schinken nur für Muslime: "Schinken" aus gepreßtem Kalbs- oder Hühnerfleisch, […] für ein 5 * Hotel lächerlich! We got a very small double room and it was almost impossible to open our siut cases eventhough we only had package for 3 days. The hotel is very centrally placed with easy access to the tramp (100-150 metres) which takes you around for all important attractions and shopping places.

Det er andre gangen i løpet av 7 mnd vi besøker Istanbul og vi har brukt dette hotellet begge gangene. Det eneste vi synes er dyrt er prisen på frokost. Jeg har boede på Crowne Plaza Old City i 4 dage, og jeg har intet at sætte fingeren på. Alt var tip top perfekt, og beliggenheden er nærmest ultimativ. Rent, moderne, komfortobalt og meget rar atmosfære.
