Barry's Hotel - Дублін

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Some features made it feel more like a hostel rather than hotel; room keys had to be left at the front desk before going out, and no guests were allowed in the rooms. The hotel itself was in a great state of disrepair. The stairwell next to my room was full of construction waste, paint cans, and dirty […] work rags. My room itself was also not up to my cleanliness standards, with stains on the floor and duvet cover on my bed, as well as chairs that had multiple crusty marks! The bathroom sink was sloppy with caulking seemingly randomly applied everywhere during installation/repair. Although there was enough space for luggage, the bed practically cut the room in half, and to get to the other side meant walking over the bed. The door to the room was loose-fitting with a weak lock, I did not feel 100% secure. Further, the door was so thin that any outside noise could be easily heard in the room, especially the unruly housekeeping staff who would slam doors behind them! hotel is very basic but offers good value if you just want a bed for a night..I have stayed in most grades of hotels in USA from 2 star Days Inn to Westins and Bellagio and I find that the lower grade hotels in Ireland are generally far better than the 2 star hotels in USA..particularly those in the Southern states.

I arrived at 5am, and the night receptionist was very friendly, apologetic that the room wouldn't be ready til 3pm, but helped me by letting me stay in another room til my time. The hotel is off the main street near the James Joyce Center, so the street was quiet and yet close to everything in central Dublin. Breakfast was adequate, but I didn't choose […] the hotel for the food. It's more a B&B, with a nice fireplace. The bar was closed temporarily, and was lovely; I look forward to the next time. You got what you paid for. I wanted something cheap and so my stay reflected that. It was old and basic, there were cigarette burns on the bedside table ans the toilet handle was loose....but I was ok with that because it was warm and clean.

When I arrived I was told that I would need to put an additional 35 euros down for a non refundable deposit. I argued with the guy at the front desk about this because I was not told about this by expedia. It was late and cold out and I couldn't find any other rooms and besides, I had already paid expedia. There was a German couple in the lobby that […] he was trying to get to pay a 200 euro deposit for their 4 day stay. He was extremely rude and told us that he didn't own the hotel and couldn't do anything for us. I paid the deposit and stayed one night. The room was ok. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. The next morning, the girl at the front desk returned my deposit and apologized. I think it may have been the guys first night working there and he didn't know what he was doing. She was really nice and sorta made up for the experience. It did put a damper on the first night of vacation because I was worried about leaving my stuff in my room. The rude guy at the front desk and his buddy hanging out in the lobby all night seemed kinda shifty and I wouldn't trust them not to steal from my room. I hope they fired him. Читати далі

very convenient to our buisness site. An old hotel, it's a converted Georgian house afterall, but very clean, helpfull staff and an excellent breakfast. The cost was very reasonable. We have, in the past, stayed at nearby "Big Name hotels" which cost more and did not provide as good value for money.

When we arrived at the hotel we found that the bar and nightclub were closed down and the hotel itself had seen better days, it wasnothing like what was advertised on the website, in this respect we were not satisfied at all, however it was just for one night and it was late in the day so we did not really complain. There was only a receptionist working […] the entire hotel also, anyway the room was very clean and the hotel was fairly quiet. The corridoors and general landlord area's were very shabby. Room was very dated. Mould and odd stains on the wall, what looked like blood on the ceiling. Tiny room. Bed had seen better days... Not nice at all. Wasnt hugely dirty, just dated and poorly finished.

Altogether, there's not a bad thing to say for barry's hotel. Cheap an cheerful, friendly staff...don't be evicting luxurious hotel, that it's not...but it's clean and comfortable, great location, offers breakfast etc in its own bar...hard to fault really, especially as some deals can be ridiculously cheap. Recommended!

I was visiting a friend in the Mater hospital so I just needed a cheap hotel within walking distance and I was perfectly satisfied with Barrys Hotel. Due to the rate I didnt expect a huge room but I was pleasantly surprised at my room It was of a good size, roomy , clean, with a double bed, full bathroom , toiletries and tea/coffee facilities. I also ate an evening meal in the bar and had my breakfast there and both meals were good and very good value. While staying there they were painting it, but a lick of paint won't solve its problems. There were cracks in all the walls, it needs updating badly. The tv reception was bad.

Barry's is listed as a 2 star tourist hotel. It was clean, and the staff were so helpful and accommodating to all of my needs. I loved the lovely foyer, and the bar was a nice place to stop in the evening. The breakfast was filling, and again the staff were very accommodating. I would definitely go back there again.

Hotel was old and room run down with only basics and bed that u only had to look at to see the big dip in centre. But the staff were lovely and very friendly. The only thing we were really unhappy with and quite annoyed at was 11 in morn (check out 12) the staff came in door, when we were lying on bed naked. Den var mycket bra. Personlaen var trevlligt och det låg inte långt från centrum. Det enda negativa var att när vi anlände och gick in på rummet var det ostädat. Strax därefter dök städerskan upp och blev mycket sur och hetsig över att vi var inne på vårt rum, fast receptionisten sagt att vi kunde gå in i det. Nous avons passé une nuit très agréable dans cette hôtel, le patron et les employés sont très sympathiques et arrangeant. Attention les places de parking devant l’hôtel sont payantes.

Das Zimmer war sauber, allerdings nicht sehr komfortabel. Gratis Wifi (im Eingangsbereich) und freundliches Personal. Gelgen ist das Hotel gut, circa 15 Minuten zu Fuss ins Zentrum und schneller Anschluss zum Flughafen. Preis/Leistung stimmt, für Reisende mit kleinem Budget weiter zu empfehlen.

Omdat het een zeer oud hotel is, is het tevens erg gehorig. De kamers zijn niet speciaal. De warmte in de kamer konden we niet zelf regelen, de verwarming had geen aan/uit knop en stond dus de hele dag aan. Pas trop mal, les chambres sont petites mais bien tenues, la salle de bain est en revanche trop étroite (le lavabo est enfoncé entre 50 cm de mur l'accès n'est pas pratique). L’accueil est correcte sans plus. Ne comptez pas sur les bon plans de la réception. Bien situé un peu à l'écart du centre ville et au calme.

Einfach nur schlecht in diesem Hotel. Da ist alles andere noch besser. Einfach nur schlecht!!!!!!! Eine Lampe hat am Anfang nicht funktioniert. Sauber ist anders als in diesem Hotel. Gar nicht freundlich.
