Great room, close enough to city centre by taxi

Arrived after dark with rain pouring. Minimal signs to show where to go to unload, park. We had 2 rooms; one with an odour of boiled cabbage, the other OK. Very narrow corridors with poor signs re how to get around. Staff friendly enough. Beds very hard. Wouldn't stay again.

I ranked my review 4/5 overall as the experiences was OK overall. Quality of service was here and their when we checked in it was around 9pm We asked about check-out time as it says 9:30 on Website however the lady said they have moved this to 10:00 - 10:30 late checkout fee was £15.00 per room which gave us until 12:00. We paid the addition £30.00 […] the night before in cash up front as we where on a night out and knew we would not wake up before the normal 10:00am check out time. However the following morning we where woken up by the phones informing us we will be charge for late checkout we went to the reception desk to explain but because we where not given a receipt we were made to pay twice. So we ended up paying additional £60.00. As for the rooms its was quiet funny as we had two rooms next to each other one was old and run down the other like new. I'm guessing it just depends on which room you will get to how you will find the room. The beds are not bad but the rooms are small and its generally clean. Parking was amazing we arrived at 9pm on Saturday parking outside was free from 6pm Friday to 6am Monday. hope this helps Читати далі

This Hotel is convenent to all Birmingham sights.It is in a nice quiet area of the city. Having stayed there three times we were not surprised to have the same high standard of cleaniness.The food was also excellent. I would recommend it to anyone.

It was a good hotel.. Rooms were modern and stylish... and clean too... Only drawback I can see of this hotel is quite far from station (again not much, but more than I expected)

The hotel has no sign posts to find it, there is not even anything on the building to say that it is even a hotel !! You will walk around campus's in the freezing cold for about half an hour just trying to find this place. The bed was solid and uncomfortable, the sheets were wafer thin. 10 min walk from train station, easy to find until you actually reach the campus. Needed to ask a couple of people to point us to the right building but this was not a problem. Great room, really comfy bed, good sized TV and good shower although water a little too hot for me and couldn't figure out how to adjust the temp (probably just me!!). Only down-side […] was that check out was at 9.30am. The rating of this hotel is overrated, certainly not a 4 star. The rooms are very small. Maintenance is not very good. We had only one set of towels and check out is 9h30 am!

Very reasonable great breakfast. rooms could do with update or refurb. But would still recommend for city centre bargain hotel

Nice conference hotel, relatively close (15-20 minutes walk) Birmingham Centre, Bullring Shopping centre and New Street Station. The hotel lies in the middel of University of Aston so the surrounding areas are nice and tidy. The room was small but well equipped and with a decent size bathroom. Overall the room had everything need, including opportunity […] for making coffee and tea. The best thing was the extraordinary breakfast included, it had everything desired. Lovely and comfortable with a clean environment and we got a great rate for room, which even included breakfast which was a nice surprise. We where very confusing trying to find the car park and when we did because of maintenance work we struggled to find the hotel in between the buildings, but the staff where very helpful when we called to find our […] way. Thin walls so overheard abit too much of the couple above us. If your've driving it would be a good idea to book a car park space although it was fine over the weekend, we just had to put £1 in the meter for each day. I went away with my boyfriend and two of our friends to see Rihanna on the friday and then have a weekend exploring the day and night life of Birmingham. The hotel was lovely and clean and looked exactly like the pictures. We were dissappointed about the swimming pool being refurbished but it did state that in the booking information but i just hadn't […] read it properly. One thing we would mention is that my friends staying on the opposite side of the hotel corridoor found that it was rather noisy outsiide from the cars but the room i was in was situated above the courtyard and very peaceful indeed. Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful when my friends kept forgetting their key!! It took less than 5 minutes to rach the bullring and less than a 5 minute taxi ride to Broad Street (the bars). Overall a lovely stay and Birmingham beat my expectations as a place to visit. The Hotel was okay, but the Name was not on the building, making it hard to find. Also the pool has been out of service for months and the gym is located off property. Finally, checkout is 9;30 am.

A very high standard of accommodation and excellent service and breakfast. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend this hotel especially if you can get it at a discounted rate. Only minor downside was location relative to the city centre.

This hotel is hard to find but really lovely inside, hotel room was very nice with all new furniture and very clean. Definitely recommend this hotel, very good value for money.

This hotel is a conference hotel located on a business campus and it feels like it. Very impersonal, hard to contact reception outside office hours and even then you have to leave a message to be called back. Decor was dated and had a 'university halls' feel. Didn't help that half the campus seems still to be being built and had very noisy works outside […] my window at a relatively early hour. Located off the main town centre so not as convenient as the 'proper' hotels. Restaurant staff efficient for the most part but occasionally had to be reminded to bring things they'd forgotten - and that was with 4/5 staff and only 3 tables going. Bar staff charming even when a large crowd of conference delegates descended on them en masse. Overall it had a 2/3 star feel rather than the claimed 4 stars. I travel to Birmingham a lot for business and only stayed here as agency could't find somewhere closer due to block bookings everywhere for the Lib Dem conference. Won't be going back I don't think, or using it for my team. May be different as a cheap conference venue perhaps. Читати далі

Meals too expensive! Phone charges to Ireland outrageous!!

The hotel is conveniently placed for walking into the city centre, however perhaps due to this and the convenience of the university it was a little noisy. Unfortunately the paper thin walls meant a full nights sleep wasnt always possible. The room was fitted with adequate facilities and was clean and tidy. Helpful friendly staff who were more than willing to help on a number of occasions. Nice clean room with excellent rates for rooms.

LOCATION. A bit out of the way in northeastern Birmingham. ROOM The room overlooked construction on the university site. It was fairly large, although the bathroom was a bit small. FACILITIES TV, coffee and tea facilities, water and ice available. Complimentary cookies. Breakfast is a little expensive.

We have stayed here before and that is why we returned. The hotel is very comfortable and very smart. Would stay there again.

The Conference Aston Hotel is a nice, modern well equiped hotel fairly near main attractions of Birmingham. Lovely, light and airy room, large TV, instant WiFi connection. Big, modern bathroom, excellent shower over bath. Quiet and peaceful during the day but beware - VERY NOISY during the night. Walls paper-thin and constant slamming of doors, shouting […] and laughing along the corridor all night long. The worst I've ever experienced in an hotel. As though we were in the student quarters. Made a complaint the next day as very little sleep but met with indifference by reception. Would not recommend this hotel for one reason only i.e. NO SLEEP AT NIGHT due to the constant noise from revellers. Otherwise this hotel very good in all other respects. Читати далі

Fantastic hotel for the price, brilliant location (we walked ot the city centre in about 15 minutes). Stayed for one night with my boyfriend, room was modern, spotless and comfortable. Definately recommend this hotel, will stay again :)

The hotel is on the campus of Aston University and is located in the Business building. It is a short walk to New St., Snow Hill and Moor St. Rail stations and the shopping of the Bull Ring and plenty of restaurants and pubs. When I was there they were renovating rooms in the hotel, but as I was there on a weekend I was not disturbed by any noise. The […] room was large and clean with a good size bathroom that had a tub with shower and a comfortable bed. There was cable tv and free wi fi as well. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We had booked here as it's close to Gatecrasher and used to the hotel/club scenario. I thought this must be ok as it's part of a business school with international acclaim. We weren't disappointed; a well refurbished, clean, warm and with friendly helpful staff who do make you feel at home. Free WIFI and your second drink free at the bar were a really […] nice touch. If you want to eat, the restaurant has an adequate selection and reasonably priced too, but if you want something a bit more rough and ready, there's a couple of takeaways within a short walk. Breakfast was a bit expensive for the quality of food we got there, but all in all, a pleasant change to the large hotel groups we normally stay in. I would mention that the sound insulation between rooms isn't fantastic, but it's not so bad as you'd be really upset. There was a big party of hairdressers staying and they were noisy tinkers, but again, it was a party and sometimes you need to remember that you are a long time dead. Highly recommended for a Birmingham sleep-over, the rooms were well refurbished to a high standard with a bath and shower. The bed was comfy and big enough for us. The rooms were warm and the windows open (I know, I was shocked too) which is a really nice change from the usual sealed and air conditioning. Saying that, I don't know what it would be like in hot weather. In summary, remember your student digs on campus? This place is an up-market version of that, but with better fixtures and fittings. There's still some renovation work going on here so I don't think it's got a huge capacity right now, but for the cost this is a really good place to stay if you aren't bothered about all the extras. We booked the conference aston using hotels.com...We had gone for a night out in birmingham... We booked the superior room and was very impressed with it when we arrived..It was very spacious and extremely clean with a lovely view of the courtyard..the staff were extremely friendly...The bar was cheap too.

We didn't know this place existed and just booked it on the off chance as there was nothing else much available in Birmingham City Centre. We were really impressed and it's now likely we'll use this hotel every time we stay over in Birmingham.

It was hard to find with no signs to say were the centre was. But once we found it the rooms were OUTSTANDING...... We had booked 2 rooms and they put us opposite each other which was great. Both rooms where fully equipped and we will defiantly be booking there again.

The check in area and restaurant/bar are nice, clean and decorated with a modern twist. However, the rooms need a definite revamp. Travelodge standard if that! I struggled to the lock the door on the room that I had and on phoning reception, the man they sent said that all the door locks need changing because they are temperamental!? I liked the fact […] that they provided water in the room, plus tea and coffee making facilities including nice biscuits, but the rooms definintely need an overhaul. The bed was comfortable too, but the neighbours weren't great (not the hotels fault) and I could hear the lift 'beeping' everytime it reached our floor. If you are not staying in your room very much and just need to crash out, then this hotel would probably be fine as the location is very central. The hotel is embedded in Aston University as part of its conference facilities. The rooms range from the simple to the more luxurious. It is what you would expect from a modern business hotel: clean, secure, calm, with free wifi and a friendly enough staff. Bar stays open till midnight, prices are reasonable. Very good location in the city centre, comfortable room and good service. The only difficulty was in acually trying to find the building, in a University campus type area it was not very easy to finds.

Aston大学の敷地内にあります。New Street駅から歩いて15分，タクシーに乗っても中心部を迂回するので15分ほどかかり，料金は5～6ポンドほど。 ダブルルームに泊まりましたが，部屋が広い！まだ新しくバスルームもきれいです。しかも大学敷地内のため夜は静かで，広いデスクがあるので室内で作業するのも快適でした。 ただし滞在時は大学施設の新築工事中で朝8時から騒音。目覚まし代わりになってよかったですけど。 また，周囲にレストランがないので食事はよそで済ませてから帰ったほうが無難です。ホテルの近くには，大学敷地入り口側にテイクアウェイの店と酒・雑貨店が3軒，それから敷地の反対側にパブが2軒ありました。 ホテル内にもカフェスペースとレストランがあるのですが，滞在時はレストランが営業していません […] でした。 トータルでみて，立地・価格・設備のパフォーマンスが非常に高い，穴場だと思います。 Читати далі
