You reach the subway, supermarket, hairdresser, pharmacy, bank, etc. just with the elevator. This is super practical. Hotel staff are nice. Surrounding is not exciting but Airport Limousine (the bus service) stops in front of the hotel which is really convenient. You can go anywhere by subway. I would recommend this hotel. The hotel is located very conveniently on top of a subway stop. So, even if the hotel is a few subway stops from the central business district, it only took a few minutes to get there on subway. My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel. It's on the top of line 5 and 6 so we found very convenient. It's also very close to major attractions and shopping areas. The room is not big however it is very clean. The bathroom is also very big. I think it definitely worth the money and will choose this hotel next time visiting Seoul.

All the staff spoke English very well, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is nice, comfortable, and convenient to Hongdae (or anywhere, the subway stop is basically downstairs). The breakfast was a bit pricey, but basically standard for a nicer hotel...

Stayed at Lotte Mapo for a total of 5 nights over 2 different periods. Was kindly given a larger room on a higher non-smoking floor during the second stay period. Do not expect frills like a door man etc, but the hotel is adequate as a base for touring Seoul. As mentioned in other posts, the hotel sits atop 2 subway lines (Lines 5 and 6, Exit 2 for […] hotel). Subway line 5 is very useful for getting to Gwanghwamun (right in front of Gyeongbuk Palace) in 20mins or so, and subway line 6 to Myeongdong in abt the same time, but involving 1 transfer at Samgakji Station. Having a Lotte Supermart and a number of small cafes in the complex itself is useful. There are more cafes across the road. If you want a wider selection of groceries, use Exit 7 of the subway station and walk just 50m ahead to reach a sizeable E-mart. Housed within that complex is a Starbucks and a neat foodcourt. If you have loads of luggage, do consider using the Limo bus service instead of AREX as the subway system lacks lifts (and the escalators may not be operational at all times). Читати далі

The Lotte City Mapo was in a great location for our daughter's College, that's why we chose it. The subway runs underneath the hotel so it is great for getting around. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is very expensive compared to the restaurants and bars around it but very nice. Only stayed 2 nights but staff very helpful and polite. Under the hotel is food outlets, supermarket and restaurants. Also there is a link to the underground which is easy to use, efficient and clean.

the hotel is actually nice, but our room's air conditioning didn't work, and I think it was a hotel-wide problem. It was cold outside, true, but hot inside, and it was too hot at night to sleep well.

Front desk staff very helpful and courteous, speak English. Courtesy bus convenient to go to designated places, bus driver helpful. Subway station under hotel Shops lower floor very convenient.

The Hotel had everything we needed. Was in a great location and the Hotel itself was excellent. The gym, pool and self service laundry were an added bonus as was the supermarket, shops and metro right underneath it.

Though in a business area, Lotte city hotel provides very easy access to the main Seoul attractions through shuttle bus and subway, with a direct train to the airport. The friendly staffs do talk in English, which really helped.

The subway station " gongduk" is right under the hotel building, you don't have to go outside to get access the subway station. That's good for everyone. By the way, coffee shops and Korean restaurants on the "LG" floor are clean and delicious.The Lotte supermarket also on the "LG" floor is open til 23:00.

Great location with a subway exactly next to the hotel. There is a small market, coffee place, and restaurants right below the hotel. The only problem was we arrived at the hotel early at 7am and the hotel told us that if we want to check in then we have to pay 1 night extra so we decided to not check in early. Loved our stay in this hotel. They were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We even asked for a humidifier and they had one for us to borrow. The only problem is that I thought this hotel was located in Mapo station (because of the name of the hotel), when in fact its in gongdeok. Otherwise it was a nice stay & would recommend.

This is the third time my wife and I have visited Seoul in the last 7 years. We usually opt to stay in the City Hall area. I'm so glad we decided to give Lotte City Hotel in Mapo a try. Stayed 6 nights, 5 days in October 2011. Very nice location with subway access in basement to Lines 5 and 6. Nice mall with restaurants, shops, and supermarket in basement as well. Everything in good shape and comfortable. Wired internet access, no wireless, but no problem.
