Great location in the historic area of Charleston. Comfortable room, accomodating staff. Only wish they had a coffee maker in the room!

We enjoyed our choice of hotel due to how nice it was and it's location. We could walk everywhere we needed to go or else we could use the bike taxi's if we wanted a break from walking or needed to cut down on the time to and from the Festival of Houses and Gardens. We did still think it was more expensive than we really wanted to pay, but it was hard […] to find a room that we could stay all 3 nights in as some we looked into were available for only 2 out of the 3 nights. From the overly accommodating and knowledgeable hotel staff, to the perfect Historic District location -- right in the heart of shopping and art galleries galore, to the beautiful lobby and decor, I would 100% recommend this hotel to others.

The Charleston Place is an exceptional hotel in the heart of Charleston. It is walking distance to all the sights of that beautiful city as well.

this hotel was in an awesome location if you are interested in wlaking to all the historical places in downtown Charleston.....or if you are a foody. You can hit all the best restaurants in the area. The hotel is fabulous and the staff was and has always been the best. If you do not see what you want just ask them and they will get it for you if possible.

This hotel is a perfect example of Charleston's beauty and hospitality. The rooms are comfortable and the service and food excellent. I cannot think of any other hotel in Charleston that I would consider after a stay here.

Nice hotel in great location but definitely over-priced in comparison to others of same quality. Restaurant is nice but prices are exorbitant and food quality does not measure up.

We were a family of 4 and shared a suite - very spacious, clean and beautiful. Everyone from the staff - from the time we arrived to when we left - was absolutely helpful, polite and nice. The hotel is big and is located at the heart of Charleston - walking distance to the city market and all good restaurants and shops. I definitely recommend it !!

This hotel has a friendly staff, great location and only one annoying weakness. One cannot make a cup of coffee in the room. In this day and age, one expects to have a coffee maker in the room and not be obliged to buy a fifteen dollar personal pot from room service to enjoy a leisurely cup in bed. From the central location, to the onsite shopping, dining and entertainment, this hotel is more than worth a stay. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and consistently polite and pleasant making our stay that much more enjoyable. We will return and have already recommended to friends! very nice hotel and the club level was well worth the extra $ but had a terrible experience getting the room a/c fixed...numerous calls to front desk and promises of a response were broken 3 times....very frustrating for such a high class place

Beautifuyl facility, great location, incredible service. We would come back to Charleston for no other reason than to stay at this hotel.

We had stains on the shower curtain next to the toilet, stains on our sheets, stains on our comforter and a nasty stain on the ceiling. Front desk was very rude and used the word "yeah" for all of her yes's. Not at all what I expected and will not stay here again. Family from HI, CA, CT met for Thanksgiving vacation. Easy pick up to/from airport. Elegantly decorated hotel puts you in the holiday spirit. Concierge level was definitely worth it. Walk to shops and restaurants, both trendy and traditional. Staff is very friendly and most helpful. I lost my necklace and they helped me find it at 1 AM.

The hotel is likely the nicest in town (at least from what we saw. We had a little yorkie with us and everyone was very dog-friendly. We didn't eat at the restaurants but heard they were very good. The holiday decorations were very nicely being assembled. I am sure this will be a great destination for people over the holidays.

Wonderful stay. My only suggestion would be more seating in the lobby. Your lobby is lovely but there is nowhere to sit and enjoy it. We had to go outside and sit on the curb in front to drink our morning coffee. Yikes!!

On a positive note, the hotel is located in the center of everything and is very well kept. They gym is small but the pool is beautiful. On a discouraging note, our room was not cleaned by the time we returned to it , even after we spoke with the front desk and the housekeeping staff. Tissues were not replaced in the bathroom. The shower head was horrible and we were awakened to knocking or hammering on Friday and saturday morning.It seemed to be coming from upstairs

Great Location. First given a room where the a/c was tooo noisy. Then given a room very near the elevator. Although near the elevator there was NO elevator noise. The room is quite charming. The conceirge was very helpful with dinning sugestions.

Hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. room was spacious and beds were perfect. Everything was fresh and clean. Pool and spa were beautiful, comfortable, and accommodating. Only 1 minor gliche, on the 3rd day of 4 day stay room key did not work. Hotel may have checked me out, but it was easily fixed. Room service is pricey. The location of Charleston Place cannot be beat. Our main complaint was about the pool. It was filled with children who were running around and splashing, even though there were signs that clearly said no running and splashing since the pool is very small. As a result, the pool area always looked like it was dirty. There was also never anyone working […] at the bar area in the pool. The room does not have a coffeemaker, which I thought was pretty cheap given the price of the room. Travelled with my family. We had a great stay. The location is excellent, you walk out the front door and your straight into the action. Kids loved the pool, food was great, staff were friendly. All in all a really great weekend. We'll be back.

Always love Charleston Place! However, this time we found someone else's bobby pins on our bed upon check-in, and a makeup stained bathrobe. We tossed the robe on the bathroom floor and it was taken away but not replaced. Also, on the day we were checking out, the maid knocked on our door quite early to ask if we wanted housekeeping. We loved our stay here, walking distance to anything in south Charlestown & harbor. It had a great indoor/outdoor pool with a small baby pool that was great. Rooms were clean, staff was great!

The best hotel on your trip

The bed was very comfy but the rest of the room was out-dated. The TV was a tube tv and the carpet looked like someone died on it. It was ugly but the pool super nice. Well I give it a 4 out of 5

I travel almost everyweek in the USA and take at least 4 trips to China a year. This hotel is one of the very best that I have stayed at. We had a HUGE Roach in our room, had to call the front desk to kill it since it was on the window treatment. We had VERY loud neighbors beside us that keep me awake most of the night....

This hotel is a little dated, but not in a charming way. The furniture in the rooms is very dated. That said, it's a comfortable hotel with good service. The restaurant downstairs serves a great breakfast and the servers are very attentive. Overall, this hotel is a little pricey for what you get.

I have a tight budget and this websight made it affordable to go to such an amazing hotel! Service was great and the people were on the ball on everything! The hotel is amazing but make sure you bring plenty of spending money at this town is a very expensive one! I would recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway!

Excellent concierge service. Wonderful location in the heart of the city. Comfortable rooms. Nice spa. Very noisy in the mornings. Maids go around banging doors and calling out "house keeping," which is very disturbing early morning. They also vacum with doors open where you can hear in room across the hallway.

Wonderful service! Loved the Club Level. The staff was lovely. Great location. Stayed at another hotel and then moved over here (The Vendue--can't even compare!)

My husband and I came to Charleston for many reasons. We are avid travelers and use tripadvisor to help us identify what we are looking for in a hotel. We both are in the service industry and are extremely picky and easily identify with good and bad customer experiences. Our good service started with Ashton at the front desk a couple of months ago […] when I was choosing between Charleston Place and Planters Inn/French Quarter Inn. Ashton, gave me the details of the Club Level 7th and 8th floor rooms, the amenities, and the benefits based on what I told him I was looking for which is luxury, relaxation, high quality cleanliness and service. My husband booked the reservation through Hotels.com on March 31st. We were immediately welcomed by Mike at the valet and we got to know him quickly, asking him about Charleston and where to go. He gave us suggestions and asked about our stay. We chose the club level room because of the amenities, accommodations, the views, the private lounge, and the value the club level offers. Then Kimberly and Jessica stated that the club level and the hotel was sold out. We paid March 31st. The hotel had been paid in advance and we expected the service we paid for. - Kimberly went to her manager Jessica. Kimberly told us that she had an even better room for us which was a junior suite on the 3rd floor. My notes stated the difference was an additional 200 sq feet. Besis our bellhop was exceptional. He opened the door and immediately sensed our disappointment in the room. The view was blocked and the room was not very different. They did offer us the club level access, however, we intended to use the private lounge frequently and going up and down the elevator would not have been convenient or worth the money we were spending. He immediately called Jessica and explained our discontent. Jessica was able to accommodate us after stating to my husband, "We have a room for you on the Club Level, but I will have to take it from someone else." We did no Читати далі

Rooms are extremely small. We had an "executive suite" - it was NOT a suite. If our room was a "suite" I can't imagine what the regular rooms look like. They must be a closet. There are other hotels in the general area that are a lot less costly. i.e., Hampton Inn They do not have wifi in the hotel rooms - only internet cable connections, which don't […] work with iPads. The hotel is very nice. The staff friendly, The location central. The pool was wonderful. Patio doors opening to roof-top garden and sliding roof opening to the sky. Our "junior suit" was roomy, but a bit dated. The furniture not so comfy, but the bed/pillows were. While not really impressed for the money, I'd like to have stayed a few more days. Desk clerk was extremely helpful and kind. We arrived early and our chosen accomidations were not available yet so he was kind enough to have the porter take our luggageso we could walk around town for a while.
