We spent 2 nights prior to heading up to Lake Powell. The hotel sits on top of a hill and has a spectacular view of some of Sedona's Red Rocks. There is a patio where you can sit and watch the sunset behind the rocks, awesome! The rooms themselves were a little dated (giant old tv!!) and the wifi was a little flakey, but very clean and comfortable and […] provided a refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. The grounds were very nicely landscaped and maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We got a super rate on this hotel and our room was on the backside, if I go back I would definitely pay a little more to get one of the rooms overlooking the rocks, fantastic view, and after all that is what we were there for! "Great location for the sunset"
We arrived in time to watch the sunset. The hotel's viewing area was closed for a wedding which didn't matter because we have an incredible view from our room. Room was just okay, nothing special. We have stayed at Sky Ranch atleast 3 times before and been in all their different types of Accommodation, The Garden, The Rim and The Partial View. "Very nice garden!"
The pool was really warm, and the rooms had microwaves and mini-frig. The garden was beautiful but they watered the lawns so much you really couldn't get down and play or picnic on them (we have little kids so this was kind of disappointing). We had a wonderfull time! Booked one of the fireplace rooms - very comfortable beds, clean rooms & bathrooms. Older/dated rooms but location and views were well worth the money spent. The view from our room's windows was spectacular - the mountains across town - even though we had what was described as a "partial-view room." I can't imagine what the full view might have been, because what we saw wasn't anything like partial. The room was spacious, had a working fireplace by the windows looking out to the mountains, a balcony with […] chairs and a little table all facing the view. Service and advice at the front desk was great, too. They have a wine bar, landscaped grounds and an observation point where you can look at the stars in fairly dark skies at night and across the valley at the town anytime. I've been here before and love to return to it. Love the location, cute retro-style motel, landscaping, rooms, bar and VIEW!!! This time I had the pleasant luck and surprise of receiving a free upgrade to one of the balcony rooms without even asking for it!! Can't beat that! The Sky Ranch Lodge is the BEST and ONLY place I will consider staying in the Sedona area .... the rooms are large , clean , and extremely comfortable..... The grounds are beautifully landscaped , the hot tub and pool both well maintained , but the BEST part of the Lodge is the private viewing patio that overlooks the red rocks and the town of Sedona […] below .... they have wine and beer available if interested , and the Sedona airport is within walking distance with a restaurant there as well . We found this hotel to be a very nice surprise. We were only there for one night, but this place would be fine for a week (or more) visit. Very large, clean room with a fridge, comfortable bed and nice balcony. Check in was easy, staff was friendly.
