This is a very pleasant stay for me, my husband and teenager son. The room was a bit tiny but everything was clean and tidy. The hotel is maintained in a good condition and its location is ideal if you have got your own car. Because we did not hire a car when we arrived at Leeds, it was a bit inconvenient for us to find the hotel with our luggage. The reception service was friendly and efficient. When we discovered the shower in the room was not working, the hotel staff immediately changed another room for us and was very apologetic. The breakfast was good enough. Our overall comment of this hotel is good and pleasant and I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Booked this place because, quite frankly, all hotels were fully booked. What a pleasant surprise! Clean, modern, convenient and well under budget. Would happily stay here again and no doubt will do so.

Stayed at the Brentwood for 2 nights. 20 minute walk from the Railway Station and you get to see some lovely views and building on the walk round :) The hotel is within walking distance of the city centre, but be warned if you want to get a taxi it costs £2.50 before you've even moved anywhere!!! (never known that before, unless it's a yorkshire thing??) Also, […] if you take your car there aren't many places to park as its also a residential area as well as hotels/B&B's.The main road leading to the hotel also gets very congested all day, but only going into the City. But as the hotel is in a great location I'd recommend taking the train and walking (if you can) :D The hotel is lovely and the rooms are top notch. They have been refurbished to a high standard. Breakfast is early, between 8-9am, but can't fault the full breakfast. It was lovely and keeps you going all day :) The staff are very friendly and help out if you need it. Rooms are spacious and clean. TV's in the room with freeview. If you're looking for great restaurants make sure you go to the Mumbai Lounge on Fossgate (Indian) and Prezzo on Castlegate (Italian). Both serve fantastic food in fantastic atmospheres. If you like icecream you can take home Barry the elephant that the icecream is served in hehehe Can't fault anything about our stay at the hotel or in York as both were brilliant. Not what I was expecting for a guesthouse.....Brentwood Guest is a place I would highly recommend you to stay whilst in York. Its on a quiet residential street, strolling distance from the City centre (an ideal walk after a good meal in town). When we arrived at the hotel at 4.30 on the Friday, my heart lurched as the exterior is nothing speacial, if even a bit shabby and the hotel is in a row if other hotels and I thought I had booked the wrong one! However on stepping in side my lurch settled instantly. The hotel smelled delicious with cute pictures on the wall, thick carpets in the hall, […] a well stocked library of avtivites to partake in whilst in York and large varses of fresh flowers. After waiting a few seconds in the hall a lovely ladygreeted us in a warm Yorkshire accent. She showed us to our room and even offered us drinks ect. We had got the train, but the lady had a parking permit ready for us, which I can imagine, if we had drove would have come in very handy as the hotel is very close to the busy city centre. The room itself was room no.1 - downstairs next to the breakfast room. The room IS SMALL. But it was great. Clean. Tidy. Great facilities. Superb shower and good storage. The room was cleaned every day and fresh teas coffe/ biscuits and bottled eater were put in our room. Breakfast was served between 8-9am. By a Hunan angle who did her best not to laugh at the Juno etc state of me and my hobby each day! The food was traditional and loads of choice if cereal, eggs, toast and tea coffee, fruit, yoga etc, The hotel is cheaper than our pals who stayed down the road in a branded souless hotel. "Brentwood Guest House in York - quiet & comfort"
Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding and bit of sightseeing. Guest House was easy to find, with clear instructions left for us to access the house and park. Room (8) was very small but well kitted out, with a comfortable bed and was fine for a 2 night stay. Location is approx 10 mins walk from the Minster which was perfect for us. A few tourist guides […] and leaflets were in the room and hotel but it would have been nice to have a list of some recommended restaurants or must see things to do etc. Good choise of things for breakfast and the staff lovely and friendly. Room compact but had everything we needed. It was useful to get permit parking. Staff were friendly and at breakfast there was a good choice of food including fresh fruit and yogurts as well as a full English breakfast if desired.

The guest house is in walking distance to the town centre and is on a lovely street, just up from York city Football ground. No issues with parking or checking in. This hotel was beautifully modern with the right touches of traditional english living. The rooms were beautiful. This is a family run operation and the pride they take in what they do really shows.

Sehr sauberes und gut gelegenes B&B mit persönlicher Note. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet. Unser Zimmer war ein wenig klein.
hübsches kleines Hotel, 10 Minuten Fussmarsch zur Altstadt. Gutes Frühstück, ganz freundliche Bedienung.
