Very chic in best location

Great hotel right on the high street - you can't get much closer to the castle unless you're royalty!

Excellent location. Hotel provides valet parking. But parking is ridiculously expensive. Check-in was a breeze. The rooms are crisp, clean and comfortable. Main complaints are with housekeeping and room maintenaince. When the room was cleaned, only one set of clean towels were left. Half used bottle of shampoo was left in the bathroom and was not […] replaced. Our telephone in the room was not working, so we had to go down to reception to request clean towels and shampoo. Someone came up to look at the phone but it was never fixed. These kinds of things should not be an issue in a 4 star hotel. Besides those issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Читати далі

This is a wonderful hotel if you can get it at a reasonable rate. It can be pricey. Staff always very attentive.

Perfect Hotel in perfect location, perfect stay. If any complaint would be parking charge expensive, but well worth it.

Stayed for 2 nights at Macdonald Windsor and both the hotel and staff are lovely. Great central location opposite the castle. Beautifully decorated inside and the bathrooms are great with under floor heating and big showers! Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for one night. It was ideally located for a wander around the shops and a visit to the castle. We ate in the restaurant where the food was excellent and the service was good. All the staff were exceptionally courteous and went out of their way to help, for example offering the loan of an umbrella when it was raining outside. The car park […] seemed very expensive at £25, so we parked in one of the public car parks which was only a short walk away. This should be a strong consideration for the upscale visitor to Windsor. It is a very modern and youthful hotel.

Very high standard of product and service. Room was a bit noisy in night - heating system ? Toast at breakfast was a travesty ! particularly compared to the wealth and quality of the other produce.

Very comfortable, modern hotel, located yards from Windsor Castle. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

An unpretentious entrance opens to a reception desk staffed by most helpful people, though with a variable knowledge of the town and its facilities. The room was relatively large, clean, and well laid out. The bed was comfortable with crisp linen and a soft duvee. The standard of the bathroom was commensurate with the room. Unusually for the UK, water […] pressure in the over-bath shower was excellent. However, stepping out of the bath would challenge people with limited agility. Food and beverage in the hotel was well-presented and moderately priced. Indeed , given its position, the hotel's room rate was most reasonable. A minor problem is that one cannot park in front of the hotel, but garaging is available at the rear. Very nice hotel. Beautiful and comfortable lobby area with couches and coffe tables to have drinks, snacks, socialize or work. Very nice bar and lounge. Also a full restaurant (although we didn't eat there, a little pricey for us). Room was large (by European standards) comfortable and nicely decorated with a refrigerator. We were met by a concierge who came with me to find the car park at the back of the hotel. Reception was friendly and efficient and the room was immaculate. As it was our silver wedding anniversary the Hotel presented us with a lovely gift and card. The position is perfect and the check out was swift. Can't fault the hotel apart from the £25 car park […] charge, but it is a valet service... The room rate was good as we booked several weeks in advance, but would liked it to have included breakfast. Great location in the heart of Winsdor, right in front of the Crooked House. Great service, and friendly environment.

Very clean, modern boutique style hotel in the High Street in Windsor bang opposite the castle. Rooms very comfortable and clean, complimentary sparkling water and good shower. I stayed with my teenage daughter in a double room on a Sunday and then returned the following Friday. Everything was fine except that both times (different rooms), the zip and […] link double bed was very creaky and each time one of us turned it disturbed us. Also, they forgot to give us an early morning alarm call. Thankfully I had also programmed my phone and didn't have a meeting or flight to catch which could have been disastrous. At just 30 mins from Heathrow this is a much better option than an airport hotel. It's right in the centre of town (virtually opposite the castle) and offers underground parking (at a fairly salty £25 a day). This was our third visit and the first time that the room disappointed slightly. This was because the only view we had was of air-conditioning […] units. There was no trace of noise from them though, the glazing being very sound. The room itself was fine and it was only for one night, otherwise we would have asked to be moved. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around but sometimes they can get a bit rowdy so this time we opted to dine at the hotel. Big mistake. This is the sort of offering which gives British hotel restaurants a bad name. We'll be giving it a miss in future. Can't complain about the decor or the ambience though and the bar is pleasant. Staff during our visit were friendly, polite and helpful. Because it's so central, the hotel is a great base for exploring Windsor – good walks and shopping are on the doorstep. However, because it's on the tourist coach 'milk run', Windsor can get a little overcrowded, even in the winter. Plenty of room in the park or down by the river though. A train from the town station (5 mins walk from the hotel) will get you into Paddington (via a change at Slough) in about 40 mins. All in all this hotel is a good choice if you're coming to Windsor for a visit or because you have a plane to catch next day. We'll keep staying there as long as the current standards are maintained. Super accomodations in new hotel across from the Castle. Very conveniently located in town centre and easy walking to restaurants, shops, etc. Only criticism is poor lighting in rooms. Have stayed many times in Windsor before and will definitely stay here again. Staff could not have been more helpful and courteous.

What a fabulous hotel one of the best we have stayed in. Would highly recommend this to anyone and will definitely go back.

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of March 2011. Arrived late in the evening meet by reception staff very friendly asked if they could help with my bags, arranged morning call. Room was excellent outstanding levels of comfort/cleanliness. Best shower I have ever had. Water, fresh milk and ice if i wanted it. Everything worked and was cleaned to high standard […] everyday. Cheaper than other hotels yet the best standard. Looks small at the front but is nice and modern looking. Nice and slient and dark in the nights i was never disturbed. Stayed in room 111. This hotel is very nice especially for the price and location. However, I was traveling on business therefore, it is very important to receive everything that was booked in advance. The communication of hotel staff was extremely poor. My conference room was confirmed at the very last minute and the delegate lunch was not what we expected. I will add […] that the staff was helpful in trying to resolve or "bring comfort" to everything that went wrong, but by that point my trip was over and I was back to the US. A little too late! The MacDonald Windsor hotel is right in the centre of Windsor. It is across the road from the Castle, so the neighbours are nice! I had everything I needed including peace and quiet at night. Plenty of eating places round about. The hotel provides a free internet service, which is invaluable when working away from home. Nice friendly staff. Excellent hotel in the centre of Windsor. Opposite the castle, near the shops and theatre. Only couple of things to be aware of:- 1) Remember to close the curtains if you want privacy because blinds become transparent when the room's lit 2) Car parking is very expensive, even compared to Airport hotels and needs to be booked in advance.

Excellent hotel, just across the road from Windsor Castle. As the hotel had recently opened everything was as you would expect, ie clean and working effeciently and very modern. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and I would book again without hesitation. One word of warning, if you book the hotel car park, make sure you know how to get to […] it. When I booked the car park the very helpful lady who took the booking, gave me the car park postcode as it is different from the hotel, even though the car park is beneath the hotel. However my satnav took me to the front of the hotel, and we had to go round the block 3 times before we found the entrance to the car park. Going round the block in Windsor is not easy!!! this hotel was just acrossed the road from windsor castle and a 5 min walk from station. good also for a day at legoland bus pick up just down the road from the hotel. i would recommend this hotel clean, friendly, comfotable, and food was great

FABULOUS HOTEL,STAFF AND FOOD. LOCATION EXCELLENT OPPOSITE THE CASTLE.

I stayed at this hotel with my fiance on the night of our engagement party. The hotel is gorgeous and the room was stunning. I would definatley stay here again.

Great hotel and location. If you are driving into Windsor, you do need to make a parking reservation ahead of time. We didn't realize this and parked a couple of blocks away.
