"Best Hotel Stay Ever"
This hotel sets the bar for excellent customer service. I have stayed at many high end 5 star hotels and this one blew me away. Beginning with the iconic setting a the foot of the St Moritz mountains, gorgeous lobby, restaurants, rooms & spa. Upon checkin the front desk rep walked me through the hotel & room and gave a tour. The room was amazing, private […] balcony, mountain views. Loved the big comfy bed & large armoire for storage. Bathroom was big but the shower was a little small. Was provided two international electric adapters for no deposit required, compared to 6 other hotels we stayed at during this trip all charged deposits for using adapters treating us like potential thieves. Free WiFi. The free breakfast was unbelievable, fresh juices such as watermelon, carrot, fresh preserves and fresh honey dripping right from the honeycomb, large selection of cheeses & breads. Vvisited the spa for my birthday and had a collegen face mask and foot massage which were heavenly. Ordered room service once, it was delicious down to the last detail. Only issue it's a bit of a walk to any shops or restaurants but there is a bus stop right by the hotel which takes you everywhere with the free travel card Kempinski gives it's guests. This hotel was the best hotel of our entire trip and I was so impressed by Kempinski that I actually looked through their book of hotels to see what other locations they are in so I can be sure to stay at Kempinski again next time. My husband and I went to St. Moritz for a 3 day ski holiday. The Kempski was great. Very convenient: the shuttle will drop you/pick you up from the train station and the city center. I booked this hotel for a romantic getaway weekend. The hotel staff were among the best I have ever encountered; it's a large hotel and the receptionists & concierge remembered our names...and we were there for 1 night. The location of the hotel is stunning; beautiful views and a close walk to center of town in St. Moritz. "Excellent service and great food"
Amazing staff and very attentive service. We were greeted by the porter at the station and took us to the checked in counter where we were given an upgraded room. The hotel receptionist offered us champagne and showed us our room and explained everything else to us. The gym is fully equipped with all sorts of equipment and there is a separate room for […] stretching which is really nice. The pool is big and heated. view. The concierge was nice to arrange us to have dinner in the hotel restaurant when they were about to close. The meal was really good. Again, the restaurant staff was very attentive (They can even prepare gluten free meal if you have food allergies). Breakfast was amazingly huge with freshly squeeze juice to be ordered (inclusive in the breakfast). We were also given late check-out. They offered to take us to the station free of charge. The deluxe room is huge, bed is comfortable and a separate toilet with bathroom plus free wi-fi. We will definitely stay there again when we return to St Moritz. The service is really excellent and staff in the hotel is so attentive to the needs of their customers. We were made very special during our stay from checking in to checking out. Stayed one night here in June - the staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. Room was amazing - actually the largest room I stayed in out of all my hotels in Switzerland. Ordered room service and it was quick and delicious. Breakfast was top notch. Would definitely stay again if I'm every in St. Moritz again.

We stayed at this truly grand hotel for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer! It definatley lives up to its name and we will be recommending it to anyone that listens. Our whole experience was amazing and photos do not do it justice. Every staff member that we came across was friendly, enthauastic, polite, knowledgable and helpful, and all spoke perfect English. We hired a rowing boat and went for a paddle on Lake St Moritz on advice from reception. The views were amazing and romantic. At breakfast on our second morning we were asked what our plans were for the day and when we said that we wanted to see snow (in summer), restaurant staff recommended Diavolezza. It was perfect! Our room on the fourth floor was spacious, luxurious and comfortable with a balcony and a view of the valley. Quiet at night and perfect in the evenings with the windows open watching the sun set or fog come in, and hearing the cow bells ringing in the distance. We ate in the restaurant for dinner, had room service and the 'best buffet breakfast' in Switzerland and it was delicious. The spa facilities were excellent, and upon returning from dinner we found our room had been 'made up' for bedtime, a lovely touch. We cant wait to go back one winter for another amazing experience!

EXCEEDED OUR EVERY EXPECTATION My wife and I just left the Kempinski Hotel in St. Moritz and it was fantastic! There are very few times in life when a hotel not only meets your expectations but exceeds them and the Kempinski is unsurpassed in beauty and personal assistance. From the time that you enter the doors, you feel like you truly are a coveted guest that the staff wants to look after like a long lost, highly revered relative who has traveled a long way for a visit.They anticipate what you might need or be interested in and they always go one step beyond in making certain that everything is perfect. Michael, the concierge, mapped out a day for us of trains, mountain lifts and cog railways to the most beautiful segments of the Bernini Pass. He gave us step by step instructions, maps and timetables in a travel packet that we could refer to the entire day. It was an absolutely worry free day because of the detailed instructions he gave us. The food was amazing, breakfast was spectacular, our room was very well appointed, the spa and pool were wonderful and every member of the staff was incredibly attentive from the doorman to the reception desk to the drivers and even to the managers of the hotel. Both of the managers were very hands on and checked on us to be sure all was well. Thank you to everyone for making this the best part of this or any other trip we have ever taken!

We stayed for 2 nights as part of a driving holiday. The hotel is stunning from the outside and beautifully decorated inside. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean and coming back from a long day out at the Monza Grand Prix was like returning to a haven. From the moment we arrived, the staff were fantastic and they were really what made the stay so memorable. They found the ideal balance between faultless service and letting us enjoy our stay, talk with friends etc. The food both in the bar and the main restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was amazing - we could have stayed all day trying all the various delights on offer. I am now spoiled for all future hotel stays - it would take a lot to top this!

Starting with your first view of this truly grand hotel as you drive up you feel like you are arriving at some king's private palace. The hotel is a classic design dating back 150 years and opulence is evident in everything including the service. At check in you are treated not as a first time guest but a returning dignitary. We had a large double room on the fourth floor with a small balcony at the front of the hotel. The furnishings are absolutely exquisite, what you would expect in a private mansion rather than a hotel. Both the bedroom and bathroom are a good size and the amenities, as you would expect, are first class. The bed is incredibly comfortable and no noise from outside was heard at any time. We had dinner in the main restaurant Enoteca which was wonderful and the breakfast buffet was huge, lavish and delicious. All the staff we came into contact with have obviously been exceptionally well trained and they all spoke English very well also. We have stayed in many Kempinski hotels and this one does the chain proud.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel with 2 other couples after traveling together into St. Moritz on the amazing Glacier Express train. The transfer from the rail station arranged with the hotel was prompt and comfortable. Attentive and courteous staff at every level made us feel right at home. Rooms are well appointed with every expected convenience. Breakfast was superb with an extensive diverse hot and cold buffet to suite the tastes of every traveler, including eggs cooked to order and delivered to your table. The bar is well stocked. The concierge (Michael) was very well informed and gave us excellent advice on points of interest, transport, and restaurants...right down to the best dish. The grounds were lovely in the summer with an easy walk to the lake; we look forward to returning in the winter. This hotel delivers on its 5 stars.

We went there after a walk in the mountains of several hours, and we were curious how this famous hotel looks. Well, it looks great, hitting the sweet spot between elegance and cosiness. We enjoyed the drinks as well as the light food. Of course this is an expensive place, so most people won't have lunch there every day. One friend had the remarkable burger trilogy - really worth the long walk! One star lost because of their somewhat thin Cosmopolitan (the Mojito however was excellent).
"Not the best in St Moritz"

We arrived on a Friday afternoon during low season without reserving before at about 2pm after a long and great drive. Upon arrival they showed us the Deluxe room which had a balcony, but had a pretty bad view on the internal court facing hundreds of other balconies. We chose to go for a Junior Suite because we wanted a mountain's view. Apparently all the Junior Suites were occupied or being cleaned so they told us to go get lunch for about 40 minutes and that the room would be ready before 3pm. We ate at the bar (great rösti and pasta carbonara) for about an hour when the waitress came to inform us that our room was ready so we chose to get in-room dessert. Once at the check-in desk they said the room was not ready and that it was not possible that someone told us that the room was indeed ready at the restaurant. Anyway they said the cleaning ladies were working fast to get our room ready within 10 minutes. After half an hour they said that it would take 10 more minutes at which point we started getting a bit annoyed by the staff not being honest in the first place since in that time we could have had a walk. At 4:30 pm, so 1.5h after the time the room originally had to be ready, we were still waiting in the lobby where nobody even offered us any complimentary drink or any snack at all which is disappointing for the price you are paying. Finally my husband got pretty angry so when they said "10 more minutes" he said that he was gonna be back in 10 minutes sharp since we were in Switzerland after-all, and that worked out fine - 12 minutes later we were being guided up to the room. Arrived at the Junior Suite the room was not great and actually quite disappointing, given that it costed far more than the deluxe but had no balcony, and just had a small couch and table in the bedroom. We did not complain because at that point we were just happy to have gotten a bed to rest on. The bathroom had a fairly small bathtub and the light switch was located outside the bathroom, behind the door, so if you wanted to switch on the light you first had to close the door completely. Same thing goes for the toilet which was a bit annoying. Internet did not work at all in the room, literally we got no signal that a Kempinski wifi even existed. Our room was located right above the hotel entry and had a view over the roundabout and a gas station, and yes, we did see the mountains but a street view is not really what you expect. The SPA was fully booked so unfortunately we only made it to the pool where I had to leave right away because the temperature was too hot (about 35° and full humidity). I would have given far a worse note if it wasn't for the extremely AMAZING breakfast buffet which was the only thing worth it in our opinion. I really hope that all the problems we experienced were just because it was summer, and that in winter the staff is more professional and honest and that the view improves with the snow.

Before I even speak of the hotel, I would be amiss to not mention the train ride from Zurich through the Alps to St. Moritz. It was the most stunning, jaw dropping view of the Alps or any mountain landscapes, for that matter, that I've ever seen. The nearly 3 hour trip went by so fast, as my wife and I nearly constantly darted from one side of the car to the other not to miss a single sight. On to the Kempinski... We decided to stay here only because it was my wife's birthday. We were in St. Moritz just for 1 Night which we now repent, we had to board the Glacier Express Train to Zermatt the next morning. I wanted to express my appreciation for the superior service I received during my stay in July 2014 at Kempinski, St. Moritz. In particular, "Michael - Concierge In-Charge" and "Front Desk Staff" were very helpful and deserve a great deal of praise for their excellent customer service. Kudos to the entire staff for making my wife's birthday so memorable. My sincere gratitude once again for your fullest support and courtesies extended at all times, specially the recognition everyone gave me. The Kempinski is a very large, stately hotel. It may even seem somewhat sterile at first glance. But when you enter the lobby it is warm and large and personnel greets you with great cordiality. The hotel and rooms are adorned with black and white historic photos of the Polo matches and socials that took place over the years right on the frozen lake. The horse stables are still located a short distance between the hotel and the lake. There's a lovely piano bar and sitting area with a fireplace where WiFi is available. There is WiFi even in the rooms with hard-wire internet also available. And I wish I remember his name...but the bartender makes the most amazing white Russian I've ever had (not normally a cocktail of choice)...made with real cream that's partially whipped to create a perfect creamy liquid on the bottom and willowy on top - YUM! And then there's the adjoining casino that we dropped into one night to play a few hands of Blackjack. In the evening, Michael had booked a table for us which is probably the best restaurant in St. Moritz. - "Talvo by Dalsass" - he also arranged for us a complimentary drop and pick up for us. Our room was surprisingly large for a junior suite, especially for European standards. Really, the entire hotel is comparatively large for a European hotel. (The room itself was comparable to the size of a one bedroom executive suite at the Ritz Carlton.) When we arrived, there was a nice array of hors d'oeurves sitting on the living room table. There was a guest bath off the entrance foyer in addition to the full bath, and a LOT of closet space! Bed was comfortable. We only had 1 day in St. Moritz so we tried to see the property very nicely. I have never seen such ultra deluxe SPA & SAUNA rooms in my life and trust me, I have seen many. There are almost 6 different types of SAUNA rooms and 3 different types of Steam Rooms, the Swimming Pool is heated and huge compared to Switz standards. Everyone, from the bellman who picked us up at the train station to the manager of the restaurant, goes above and beyond all expectations. From offering guests bottles of water as you walk out the door to wishing you a night of good sleep, the staff at the Kempinski are incredibly warm, inviting and caring. After all, when you're a true five star hotel, you know that these little things matter. Though this hotel may seem pricey, it is worth every penny for the experience. I hope to spend a week there someday! The entire staff, who ever came across my wife, wished her Happy Birthday, as if everyone knew that it's Eesha's Birthday. All and all, the Kempinski was wonderful for our short stay and we would definitely consider another stay on our next longer trip to St. Moritz! This is absolutely the best hotel I have everrrrrr stayed in. Service is way above anything I have experienced. From the limousine service, to the front dest, to Concierge, to Restaurant staff, everything was beyond excellent. 5 stars hardly seems enough to describes the experience. You need to try it for yourself to be convinced. Kudos to Michael, the concierge, and to Alexander, the restaurant manager, and all his staff. Excellent service beyond compare. Not in the thick of the shopping district, but a short walk to Lake St. Moritz. Absolutely mesmerizing. If you have one place in Switzerland you want to visit, it's got to be St Moritz.
