"Best in Bansko"
Great location - next to the ski lift, extensive facilities (would benefit from some upgrades soon but still OK) and great staff. Atanassios (the manager) is running a tight ship and one can feel the difference ever since he took over a couple of years ago. Would only consider staying at Kempi if in Bansko.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Amazing hotel to stay"

""5" Star Skiing"
Its a lovely hotel but its not a 5 star hotel. Unfortunately you hear other room doors opening and slamming all the time and its very loud out in the halls and in the other rooms. The spa was truly out of this world and its almost worth a visit just for that, breakfasts were good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bansko Ski Break"
If an inexpensive ski holiday is what you are after look no further than Bansko. As for accommodation, there is no better place to stay than the Kempinski Grand Arena. Which sits directly opposite the main gondola to ascend the mountain. The hotel on the whole was excellent with large rooms and extensive facilities, including Hamman Steam room and heated […] outdoor pool which is open all year round. I have very few critiscms, but to be constructive I feel the spa areas could be cleaned more often and more thoroughly. Bed linen was spotlessly clean but the bed was untidy after being made and the pillows where poor. Reception seemed to refer every question we had to guests services, who were very helpful. Worthy of a mention is the hotel's boot room and the very helpful chap that looked after us every day (who's name escapes me). We we in Bansko at the end of the season and as a result it was quieter. We experienced no queues, food at the local restaurants was very good and excellent value. We had a feast with two bottles of superb Bulgarian wine for four people and it came to just £90. one thing which may bother some, is the shear number of table dancing bars. Because there presence is so overtly advertised, you may feel like you are wandering through the red light district of Amsterdam. While I was not offended in any way, Bansko should consider toning down the strip bar signage if they would like to attract more families with children. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The.best hotel in Bansko"
This was the third time we have stayed in this hotel and hopefully it will not be the last! It is very close to the ski gondola and about a 10 - 15 minute walk from the town centre. The staff are very welcoming and the rooms are spotless and comfortable. There are towelling robes provided so that you can wander down to the excellent spa and swimming […] pools. The buffet breakfast was to die for!! Go on, treat yourself!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"5* luxury at a very good price"
We stayed for one night in the Kempinski Grand Hotel in Bansko. The service and location were excellent. It is right next to the ski lift and has excellent spa facilities. We stayed off season so the price was extremely competitive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good hotel close to the ski gondola"
In general hotel has a very good position and it is good organized , but the main function sleeping comfort is far away from good. First of all the room isolation it is so bad that You can hear from all rooms around the shower, walking, TV set, toilet, ... What was worst on Friday and Saturday evenings the "Piano bar" two flours below our room was working […] as a disco from 23 to 03 o'clock and we can not sleep with ear plugs also. I ask reception but they can not do nothing. I have been in other Kempinski hotels more than 10 times and never have such an experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel and Staff"
I attended a destination wedding in Bansko and stayed at the Kempinski hotel. Beautiful location and amenities. Staff was exceptionally pleasant. We had an early morning flight from Sofia before the hotel served breakfast. Without asking, the staff prepared a free packed breakfast for the car ride to the airport. Above and beyond service.Genuine Expedia guest review
it is very good located, very good quality of services , Bansko and all mountain region is very beautiful , there is a gondola with an amazing route , mountain Vihren is a test for climbing so visit Kempinski at Bansko and mark 10 for Bulgaria and KempinskiGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel. The surroundings hoewever, no snow in summertime, are à little depressing because of bad infrastrucure etc. Breakfast is real fine. Service; 5 star level too. We really can recommend this hotel when visiting Bansko.

Saapuessamme vastaanoton virkailija (nainen) esitteli hotellin ja otti meidät vastaan todella hyvin. "Thoroughly relaxed and spoilt"
19/08/2014 Melly C Kardzhali, Bulgaria
We stayed here while visiting the jazz festival and I've nothing but high praise for this hotel. Staff treated us expertly and everything was peaceful even though the hotel was full. Plenty of space around the 3 pools and the spa area was very relaxing with beautiful scents in the sauna rooms. Outdoor pools were big enough to swim in but the indoor pool was usually empty. Also the jacuzzi's are the most powerful I have experienced. Everything was clean and the rooms big and luxurious. Really felt like I should have paid a lot more to stay in this classy hotel. The breakfasts were the best we've seen in Bulgaria - every type catered for, from full fried including baked beans and hash browns, to wide variety of continental options. Omelettes and pancakes made in front of you to your choice of ingredients, a huge choice of muesli, yogurts, fruit, jams, honey, croissants and many kinds of bread, even gluten free! Wide selection of teas and good coffee too. I had a different breakfast everyday but after 5 days I still hadn't tried everything!
"Not worth the money during the summer"
19/08/2014 VeselaKPlovdiv Plovdiv
The hotel is really beautiful and with excellent location ( if you visit it in winter ). But during the summer the hotel operates with minimal staff. We were checked in at 5 o'clock instead of 2 o'clock, our room was made up at 5-6 o'clock in the evening and the service in the whole hotel was very slow. They decided to clean the outside jakuzzi at 4 o'clock when it was full of people and a man came and told me that i should leave the jakuzzi because he had work to do. Otherwise Kempinski is wonderful hotel, pools are nice, but it is too expensive for service it offers. Perhaps during the winter it is different when the hotel operates with full staff.
"Best location for ski lovers"
17/08/2014 Ovidiu_C Bucharest
Although I've been there one week ago, in the summer when the pace is very slow in the resort, the hotel services are at the highest level. The restaurants are very good, the breakfast is one of the better one I've ever seen, and the location is perfect: just steps away from ski lift, perfect for ski lovers. I think there are now better locations in Bansko for skiing than this one.
"Good located hotel with terrible service"
17/08/2014 Lyubomir L Sofia, Bulgaria
We visited Bansko Jazz Festival. Me and my family for the first time stay at this hotel. The hotel has a great lobby, nice pool and spa but for the summer when the hotel is not full. I can not imagine in the winter after skiing how you can manage to be in this little sauna? The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds. But breakfast was the most horrible !!!! The man At the entrance met with "In which room number you are accommodated" and "Welcome", you must find table for all of you!!!! Walk into the huge hall uncomfortable and I noticed that no table ready for use. All tables was with food residue !!!! I handled the organization of waiters preparation table! After 15 minutes we had a table, but while we were at the bar for food on our table were seated the other guests! We had to wait another 15 minutes! Second breakfast we were prepared, after waiting 15 minutes Asked prepare table, we left a lot of our belongings on the table! The food was ordinary. I would like to ask the hotel manager, Is it normal guest to organize the staff in the restaurant for breakfast or it's part of the service ?????

Amazing hotel, great service, room facilities outstanding, only cons is that moving from the rooms to some of the areas needs to walk a lot or even use stairs which in case of carrying luggage is kind of difficult, but this con is just nothing comparing with all the pros. highly recommended
"A very well-managed hotel, indeed"
12/08/2014 ELENI A Thessaloniki, Greece
The Kepinski Hotel company should consider themselves extremely fortunate to have Mr. Manos in their ranks. He is the kind of hotel manager for whom nothing seems impossible. Well, naturally he couldn't have our mattress changed overnight, but what he did do was arrange for a mattress top to be added onto our bed, allowing us to have a much more restful sleep for the remainder of our stay. Now we know who brought the fresh breeze to the Kepinski Hotel Grand Arena. It's a pity we are not skiing fans, but we will be back again next year, this time for the Opera Festival.
"A fantastic hotel to affordable price"

GREAT HOTEL, GREAT STAFF, GREAT PLACE, CLOSE TO THE SKI SLOPES. JUST GREAT PLACE. We were there to celebrate me and my friends 60th birthday. We were in total 6 persons. We have all traveled far and wide and never been to such a splendid hotel.
"Wonderful, relaxing stay"
10/08/2014 MarkMcT Varna, Bulgaria
Stayed 2 nights with our 2 children and had a wonderful time. We were greeted at reception by a girl called Dani who not only checked us in, personally took us to our room and showed us where all the facilities were. The room was good and the beds were very comfy, so had a good nights sleep. The hotel has lots of facilities which is why we chose it, so we hugn out at the pools and also in the wellness area (I think 5 different Saunas plus a snow room...I only managed about 5 seconds!). Was also pleased to see the kids club was open in the summer as we had a 4 year old with us. Only 1 complaint was that the lady at the kids club didnt seem so happy or try to engage with the kids like other clubs, and when I went to pick up my daughter she was in the toilet and I had to wait about 5 mins for her...I didnt think this was very professional to leave the kids unsupervised. Breakfast was great, full and varied, high quality, one of the best breakfasts ive had in a hotel actually. Wife loved the salmon and kids loved the freshly squeezed juices, whereas I was at home with the Full English option! Overall, had a great time and would love to go again :)
"A new breeze is blowing at the Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena, but you'll have to sleep on a rock to breathe it in!"
09/08/2014 IOANNIS M Thessaloniki, Greece
I've stayed at this hotel in the past, during summer visits to Bansko for the International Jazz Festival, so I knew what to expect. I pulled up at the entrance, stopped my car, and got out to unload my luggage. And that's when the surprises started hitting me. Two employees rushed over, one to pick up my luggage and the other to park my car. Had I arrived at the same hotel? Yes, I had. The hotel employees had obviously undergone thorough training and were now well versed in how guests at 5-star establishments should be treated. All of them, except perhaps for the receptionist who checked us in. It seemed her communist-era genes were too dominant to allow her to absorb her customer relations seminars completely; at our polite request for a humble upgrade to a mountain-view room she responded with an extremely curt reply which was tantamount to "you paid for a city-view room and that's exactly what you're getting". The next morning we discovered that the already lavish breakfast boufet was given such finishing touches as freshly-squeezed fruit juices and speciality coffees on request, luxuries which are all the more often becoming obsolete in many similarly-starred hotels, giving their place to colored water and brownish muck. The hotel facilities were excellent, as previously experienced. A substantial spa area with more saunas than you would wish to try, coupled with an extensive menu of treatments, not to mention the out-of-this-world experience of the AlphaSphere. Two outdoor pools with the Pirin mountains as their beackdrop, and delectable cuisine at the limited number of food outlets operating during the summer - low season - add to a pleasurable stay. The rooms are large, the bathrooms are huge - both power-shower cubicle and bath-tub - and you get all the amenities expected from a 5-star hotel, including nightly turn-down service. So why the 3-point grading, many fellow travellers would ask? Well, as a travel professional instructor, I know that a hotel room, irrespective of star rating, should be conducive to a good night's sleep. At its rudimentary level, this means that a hotel room should be equipped with a mattress that allows the guest to have a comfortable night's sleep. How a hotel with all the above pristine facilities and amenities could have such sagging mattresses on its beds that give its guests the impression they are sleeping on a bedrock is beyond my comprehension. Dear Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena, when you change your mattresses, I will visit you again and promise I will rewrite my review and give you the five points you would otherwise deserve.

Excellent location, well trained and friendly stuff, classy and tasty food. We loved everything - the view, the pools, the spa, the kids care center, the gardens and the fresh air and every little detail. The only tiny complain was the small leak from the shower cabin, but it was not important compared to the whole wonderful vacation we had. My little daughter said the last day: "Mommy, why can't we live here?"
