"Great after-safari hotel."
If you are looking for a first class hotel, look here first! Absolutely best-of-the-best hotel here. Lacks adequate dining options (on property) but staff is amazing and you will not regret your experience!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"New hotel teething problems"
Great entrance, service, clean, modern look Victorian decor. Only issue was rooms are small. Free wifi which is great for a business hotel. Would stay here again but not going to be my first choice choice until they are about 1year old.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice stay"
We stayed at the villa rosa kempenski for 3 nights before a trip on safari. The hotel was brand new and a good relaxing break. The staff couldn't do enough for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great new hotel"
Everything is new and clean. Service is outstanding. Everyone is friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff is a little slow, but the hotel is 6 star status, especially the gym and pool area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel in near center of Nairobi"
overall it was a great time. food was great, room was clean and nice. one drawback was it was relatively new, therefore some of the facilities, such as spa, was not completed and unable to use it at the moment. otherwise, rest of the stay was enjoyable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The service was amazing. Extraordinary, really. Each staff person. Every one was fantastic - always attentive, always willing to help and always with a smiling face. The head concierge, George Nato, was terrific; very professional, very in-tune with guests. For a fairly new hotel, they were super accommodating. One challenge is the rooms can be noisy […] on the front part of the hotel (which faces a main road). They should really put in double pane windows; but, that is more management and owner issue; not the staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great service. Noisy location"
Really great service here. Above the normal for even a high end hotel. Negative is do not get a room on the main road. The windows are not double-paned (for some strange reason for a new hotel), but otherwise terrific hotel. George NATO, the concierge and his team were exceptional. Restaurant one of best for a hotel, and very personalized service. Would […] stay here again - but make sure have quiet room:-) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel in Westland."
Villa Rosa is in a beautiful rose colored turn of the century style villa. Everything is new and gleaming. The only restaurant that was open replicated the room service menu, not very exciting. It offered only buffet style service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 3 more restaurants are in the planning stage, something of which potential guests should […] be made aware. This was very disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel in Nairobi"
This was my first stay at the Villa Rosa, it's an outstanding hotel, the staff were very courteous and friendly from hotel pick-up to drop. The rooms are nice and spacious and the bathroom is the best I've seen in a hotel of recent. The food is also great, though I have tried only one restaurantGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, Comfortable, and Cozy"
I only stayed for one night during an overnight transit from Harare. The breakfast was excellent, the room was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The only recommendation I have would be to include coffee/tea in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very high quality hotel with very friendly staff"
The staff went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed, the rooms were very nice and the food was good. One this hotel has fully established itself and opened all the restaurants/bars it offers, this will be the best place in Nairobi to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A True 5-star"
In an area where star ratings seem a little inflated, Villa Rosa Kempinski is a true 5-star. We were there 5 days 20-25 September 2013. Staff attentiveness was outstanding, the room was spotless and well appointed, and the overall facility has a "wow" factor. Hotel location is excellent for shopping and dining (although the Westgate tragedy at least […] temporarily impacts that). Hard to imagine a better hotel in Nairobi. "brand new luxury just outside Nairobi City center"
The most welcoming staff I have ever experienced. Hotel is init's soft opening and some of the restaurants will not open for two weeks. However, that did not stop the outstanding service. The rooms are immaculate and the bedding is top notch. This will be the place to stay in Nairobi by Christmas!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Above average. Overpriced. "

I have stayed at this hotel many times. My biggest gripe is that they're insistent on taking a security deposit (100 USD per night, unless you complain.) for expenses when you check in. I can only think this is to cover the extortionate price for breakfast. I could understand the temptation to flee. The hotel ticks all the boxes with decent interent connection and gym etc which are included in the 426 usd per night price tag. The rooms are pleasant and the staff friendly but that's about all.
"Sneak peek -88 restaurant in Villa Rosa"
18/07/2014 Sbn07 Bangalore, India
This is my second stay in the Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel. I was here around the end of last year. I am so happy to note that the services have gone a few notches up since I was here last. The staff made me feel like a long stay guest by recognizing me and making an attempt to talk to me making me feel like a VIP!! It was fantastic to experience that warm African hospitality all over again. Having said that what I enjoyed most was having an amazing seafood at the Asian restaurant 88! The sushi/ sashimi platter on offer was outstanding teamed with an excellent choice of wines!! The hostess attending to us was warm and refined making us feel right at home in a foreign country. I was informed that this restaurant is not yet fully open but lucky me I had the opportunity to sample the culinary excellence of the team. The gym and spa services available are commendable too. The instructors at the gym are knowledgeable and passionate about their job. Good luck team Villa Rosa. Keep up the good work and we will keep coming back for more
"Welcome addition to Nairobi but still has teething problems"
13/07/2014 simbaonsafari Johannesburg, South Africa
A bit late on writing this review as I stayed here in Feb 2014 and it's now july. The hotel was a few months old when I stayed there for business ...still has new hotel teething problems...patchy wifi and the air conditioning in the room was acting up. Should have been resolved by now. The room was on the smaller side (when compared to rooms at other Nairobi hotels that cost as much). Also had a room that overlooked the back of the hotel which is an overgrown field with a derelict building on it (note this is not part of the hotel but an adjacent property so guess there is little the hotel can do about it.) The hotel has direct highway access so good for getting in and out for meetings (and if you know Nairobi then you will appreciate this). The bar is a perfect place for evening meetings/ coffee. Tried the Italian restaurant there which is above average but no where near the quality some some of Nairobi's other Italian restaurants. Breakfast was good with an excellent spread. Will visit again in the hope that the teething problems are resolved and the hotel is fully up and running.
"Luxury and Security in Nairobi"
12/07/2014 Travelotely London, United Kingdom
From the moment of arrival until the good bye at checkout, this hotel is truly a respite in an otherwise frenetic city. On arrival I was greeted by the warmest welcome from a beautiful woman and next appeared a chilled glass of champagne and a cool face cloth. After an 8 ½ hour flight from London this was so welcome and unexpected. The room was incredibly comfortable and the A/C felt a great relief from the sweltering city. It was so nice to be able to snuggle under the German down comforter. The pillows were equally comfortable. I was thankful for the very large soaking tub which was a nice way to wind down at night. The hotel is centrally located and the security staff is a very reassuring -- if not necessary -- feature. The restaurants are good and it's so convenient to have somewhere on property to dine in the evenings and they also make the perfect place to host business meetings.
"Excellent hotel in the middle of the city"

Only spent one night here on business and it is in a perfect location for the Westlands and CBD areas of Nairobi. Great facilities and a lovely breakfast. Feels very safe and the security guards do a thorough job of checking cars and scanning bags etc.
"New and nice"

Nice stay at a new hotel on the Nairobi scene. The hotel is well located near the central business district, but time still needs to be allowed for travel times. Security is well run and tight, and one feels confident. The hotel is less than a year old and nicely appointed as a high end business hotel. The staff is enthusiastic and attentive, and ready to serve. The Spa is very nice and treatments are well priced. The work out facility is all brand new and very complete with aerobic and weight equipment. The restaurant quality is good and two more restaurants are due to open. All in all, can recommend Villa Rosa - especially for those interested in secure, luxury business setting hotels in European or Western style.
"Well taken care of..."
01/07/2014 Matt B Johannesburg, South Africa
This 5 star hotel is located on one of Kenya's main roads. I found the staff extremely friendly and professional. The deluxe room I stayed in was very big (especially compared to the last Scandinavian hotel I was in), at approximately 38 square meters. I found the room service to be good, save for the last night when I was serves an under cooked meal. Profuse apologies followed and the following morning I received an apology from the head chef also. People make mistakes, and I was not charged for the meal. I would say that room service prices are comparable to those in South Africa and marginally less expensive that Europe. The room was clean, spacious and cool. The bed was on the hard side, but not uncomfortable. The breakfast variety is large and good. Overall what impressed me the most was that friendly staff with big sincere smiles. I felt well taken care of!
"Nice hotel, bit pricy but ok. Felt safe..."

Was recommended this hotel by one of my colleagues who thought it was amazing. My first impressions were not identical, more of a clean, hotel with keen staff but over priced. Was there for a couple of days with work and got into Nairobi in the late afternoon of first day so was keen to rest in the hotel as my journey to get there had been very long...(that's another story) There were loads of pillows and cushions on the bed which is always a worry. I threw a lot of them off and was left with a number of pillows to try and get to comfortable and have a light sleep. Now, I am not allergic to anything so don't need special anything, just a nice couple of pillows... With the masses I had available in the room they all seemed to empty of everything when you put you head on them... So, using 1 felt like you had your head flat on the mattress, 2 was still too few and then 3 gave me terrible neck ache... Over the course of my stay there I could not get a comfortable nights sleep using any different permutations of pillows which was a shame... The other thing I would comment on is that the free shampoos and shower gels in the room did not appear to be inkeeping with a 4 or 5 star hotel. It would have been nicer to have some better quality products to use given the rating of the hotel and the pricing of it... I am not sure what was making the hotel so expensive as the labour costs in Nairobi are not high so therefore construction costs of the hotel cannot be high... Anyway, that was my trip to this hotel... Hope you find this useful. Beware of the traffic over there and also I would recommend only using the hotel transfer service and the hotel limos to drive you around.,, there is a lot of unrest and security issues over there at the moment, not that I saw any evidence of issues there...
"Uninspiring: food was a disappointment"

Our experience at the Lucca Restaurant was uninspiring. The extractor fans in the kitchen were loud making conversation rather difficult. Waiter service was friendly but the food was a disappointment -bland and ordinary.

I had to chance to stay in Villa rosa Kempinski, for a week time during my business visit to Nairobi. The hotel can be considered for business stays and suitable to meet customer in the lobby, However it is has so many luxurious aspect from the hot outdoor swimming pool along with the gym that has a private trainer and of course the SPA including Jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and massage. the italian and the far east restaurant are good, the morning buffet is rich and the bar at night has cool/ friendly people serving you. The thing that really draw my attention is the professionalism that the staff have, really you do provide a good service and i appreciate if you continue in the same way. the rooms are big and the bathrooms are even bigger, i felt comfortable sleeping over, wireless is for free everywhere. at the end i am going to sign a corporate agreement so all my colleagues can share the same experience i did. Thanks
