Bournemouth Shopping Guide – where and what to shop and buy

Find a place to stay

From high street brands and a sprawling shopping park, to vintage markets and boutique stores, Bournemouth has everything you need to enjoy an indulgent day of retail therapy. Whether you're after the delightfully eccentric Vintage Quarter or the hustle and bustle of the town centre, Bournemouth has a variety of shopping districts all with something a little different to offer the discerning shopper.
The Vintage Quarter

The Vintage Quarter is the more common name for the Christchurch Road area in Pokesdown, and is where you will find an eclectic collection of retro and period goods. With a younger population and a cosmopolitan atmosphere, Bournemouth’s vintage quarter is a goldmine of unique fashion shops, second-hand book stores, and chic coffee shops. If you have a taste for all things classic, then it's worth giving yourself a good amount of time to explore the Vintage Quarter, as you can trawl the rails to find that hidden gem to add to your wardrobe.

Westbourne is a short bus drive away from the town centre and is known locally as "the village”. With quaint streets and a host of small boutique stores, you can take your time perusing each shop to find a unique gift for a loved one, as well as a personal trinket to remember your trip by. Being a more prosperous and elegant area, you can also find an array of independent and artisan retailers, including arts and crafts stores, high quality delicatessens, and luxury fashion boutiques.

Castlepoint Shopping Park

Castlepoint lies on the outskirts of Bournemouth and is one of the biggest shopping parks in the UK. With expansive glass buildings, wide open air walkways, and a variety of high street fashion retailers and department stores, it is one of the best ways to spend a shopping day in Bournemouth. Castlepoint also has a variety of on-site dining facilities, from chain restaurants to coffee shops and supermarkets to make sure you won’t go hungry while browsing and ogling the wares.

Southbourne is a laid back borough of Bournemouth that has a variety of bistros, delis, and chilled-out stores in which to shop. Expect to find a more independent shopping experience, especially on the main shopping thoroughfare of Southbourne Grove which has an assortment of fashion, food, and beauty retailers. Southbourne is also home to a large stretch of golden coastline, where you can go to relax and find
