When can I find the best deals on Beach Hotels in Spain?

With wide sandy beaches and a Mediterranean climate, Spain is one of the top holiday destinations in Europe. It has a variety of beach hotels, from all-inclusive resorts to boutique hotels in white-washed ranch houses ('fincas'). Peak season is July and August, when beach hotels attract premium rates. However, competition is fierce in the larger holiday resorts, which means hotel prices are competitive. You can find the best deals in May and June, and September and October. Some beach hotels on the coast offer knock-down deals in winter, although others may close. The Canary Islands offer year-round temperatures, and attract a winter sun crowd.

Where are the best areas for Beach Hotels in Spain?

The main beach resorts are on the Costas (coasts), which run along the Mediterranean seafront - the Costa del Sol, Costa Blanca and Costa Brava have the most popular resorts, with big high-rise hotels flanking the beaches, where balconies and sea views are prized. You can find smaller hotels and family-run fincas in the smaller beach towns. The Balearic Islands - Ibiza, Majorca and Menorca - are also popular summer destinations, and have a variety of beachfront hotels, apartments and boutique properties. The Canary Islands are renowned for sprawling beachfront resorts and apartment hotels, as well as white-washed villas and guesthouses.

What are Beach Hotels like in Spain?

Spain has an extensive array of beach accommodation. The big hotels in the main resorts all have multiple pools, restaurants, bars and kids' clubs. Smaller, more boutique hotels may also have spas, fine dining and concierges. Apartment hotels are a popular choice along the Costas and offer airy apartments with fully-equipped kitchens, balconies, and access to communal pools and restaurants. Outside of the main resorts, you can find smaller, family-run hotels that lack the facilities of the larger places, but are friendly and have lots of Spanish charm.

How much do Beach Hotels typically cost in Spain?

There are beach hotels appealing to every budget, in every location, in Spain. Large, family-orientated hotels along the Costas range from 160-300EUR a night in July and August, falling to 60-70EUR in October. You can find upmarket hotels in the busier resorts like Benidorm for between 150-300EUR a night in July, dropping to 70EUR in December. Beach hotels in Ibiza range from 100EUR a night in August, up to 600EUR for a sleek 5-star resort. But travel in May, and you can find rooms for under 50EUR a night.
