Mixed emotions about my stay at the Talardy Hotel. Unfortunately I was isolating because I was having cancer treatment and my wife and kids all had coughs and colds. So I booked the Talardy as it was very reasonably priced and around the corner from the hospital I was getting chemotherapy and radiotherapy. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, a week later, I cannot think of one negative about this place. My room was comfortable, clean and practical. All I needed. When I went to their...

The facilities and food superseded the 3 star rating. The beef on the Sunday dinner was the best beef I’ve tasted. The jacuzzi in the morning looking over a beautiful sun rise has set me up for the week. My new favourite hotel in the area.

A very rare review – but our stay at Y Capel was absolutely faultless. Although a remote annexe of The Erskine Arms (on the same small street, opposite Erskine Arms) it is absolutely beautiful. A converted chapel with its own parking, one vehicle per room. It is ideally situated, right in the centre of Conwy. Walking distance from all the essential venues in Conwy. The building, the rooms and communal areas are all spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated. Our room (Number 10), was very, very...

Renovation going on at the moment but this did not impact on our stay, except that the room we stayed in needed some tlc. I'm sure that the issues we raised with the lovely staff will be attended to. We were offered another room but were happy to stay with the minor issues.

The hotel was an amazing place to stay in. Lots of history behind both the medieval and 19th century castles, which having an interest in meant it was the main draw for me. The amount of structure in tact from the original was great, you really get a feel for the context of the castle, and the later build is impressive in its own right. The grounds are beautiful and well managed, with plenty of exploring available.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Meliden
Book for the cheapest times: For those seeking a budget-friendly getaway, the most affordable time to visit Meliden is during January, February, and December, when hotel prices tend to be lower. A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the town's historical landmarks and cultural attractions, including scenic walking routes. This duration allows visitors to explore the rich heritage of Meliden while enjoying great value for money. Prices may drop during these months, making it an ideal time for those wanting to experience the beauty and charm of the area without breaking the bank.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals for hotels in Meliden, visit the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Dealsopens in new window sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you potentially save on your stay. Additionally, the Smart Shoppingopens in new window tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. This way, you can be among the first to know if prices drop or new rooms become available.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable option for your stay in a Meliden hotel. If you're in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that might be more budget-friendly, assisting you in your search for a more favourable deal.
Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to major attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often tends to come with higher prices. For more budget-friendly options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to your desired destinations. You might also look into independent hotels located further out, which are likely to offer a more authentic and economical experience.
