What a great wee find this was. Super place to stay, staff were friendly, welcoming and the food was fab. As we were only there for one night we unfortunately didn’t get a chance to sample the breakfast, it’s definitely somewhere we’d like to visit again though.

We have spent many short visits to Middleton over the past few years - this was our first stay at Brunswick House. What a delight. The reviews knocking the driveway in to park and rooms not overlarge can safely be ignored.As a couple we had twin beds,room 1 at the rear. Not large but perfectly formed with everything we needed plus an en-suite with a great shower. All spotlessly clean. The cottage was pristine, we felt like we were the first guests. It is a spacious, comfortable and stylish property and the owner’s attention to detail is second to none. What a lovely welcoming hotel in the centre of the village. Our dog had his own special treat on arrival of Posh dog wine. This made us all smile. I had let them know it was are anniversary and we also had a lovely surprise in our room. But oh my goodness the food it phenomenal from breakfast to lunch and then dinner WoW! Thank you for making our stay so lovely. We will be back

We just had a quick one night stopover on our way up to Scotland. It was perfect for our needs.

Possibly the friendliest welcome we've ever had. Glen is an amazing host, nothing was too much trouble. Perfectly situated in the middle of Hawes, with gorgeous views from our room, (no 6) over the town and beyond. Room was clean and comfortable, and the freshly made breakfast was perfect for us. Would highly recommended staying here.

My stay at Lanehead old school was fantastic. The owners Lisa and Chris were lovely and extremely helpful. My car broke down on the way there and they offered to pick me up. They then offered to pick me up from the garage I had my car towed to. Excellent hosts. It was like staying with old friends! I can't recommend the place highly enough!

Recently refurbished old coaching inn. We stayed two nights and the location, rooms and food are excellent. It would make an ideal place to explore the Dales, like us, or the Lake District. Staff are very friendly and helpful, quality place to stay, though not cheap. Not a chain hotel, so personal service seems paramount here. Just a bit of info about the car park though. A wonderfully atmospheric place to stay. If you have any feeling for historical surroundings you will enjoy your stay. The food was excellent (dinner and breakfast), the room was excellent, and the service excellent.

I stayed in the annex luxury apartments which are fantastic. Amazing comfortable king size bed. Luxury bathroom and living area - like a suite set up. Two large TVs and kitchen - the sort of place you would buy.

Lovely guest house in a great location - not far from Penrith and Keswick, and easily accessible from the M6. Great breakfast, too!

The property location was great, in a very quiet area. It was a great base to visit other places in the area. The hosts were great, they live next door so are are accessible if required. Really recommend.

Great location (10 minutes from M6)in a small English village surrounded by fields, fells and farms. The hosts are brilliant and provide great service. The fish is to die for. The bar is used by the locals who were very friendly unlike some places where they treat you as an intruder.
