Nice place, very welcoming. Local pubs and good location. Very clean and modern.

We have spent many short visits to Middleton over the past few years - this was our first stay at Brunswick House. What a delight. The reviews knocking the driveway in to park and rooms not overlarge can safely be ignored.As a couple we had twin beds,room 1 at the rear. Not large but perfectly formed with everything we needed plus an en-suite with a great shower. All spotlessly clean. A 'fridge' with 'proper' milk,2 small bottles of water plus a small fruit bowl and biscuits. The breakfast was...

The hotel is very well located. The rooms are nicely furnished for an historical building. We enjoyed eating in the hotel reastrant. The staff were all very helpful especially the receptionist.

Had a really lovely night's stay. The bed was really comfy, the room was clean and well equipped, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good pub food with massive portions and very reasonable. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is peaceful and in a lovely setting right opposite a beautiful old church.

Great location for getting out and about to see Durham. Lovely owners and everything there that you need including a lovely cake and milk and tea/coffee for a brew when you arrive! Decorated to a really high standard.

Lovely place, lovely setting. Stayed either side of the Great North Run. Staff were absolutely lovely, even got complimentary drinks when they found we'd just been running! :) Room very nice and spacious, comfy bed, only complaint would be that room was a tad warm for me, even with radiator off! Complientary entry to the health club as a hotel guest was a big reason we picked here, enabled a good soak and steam after running!

My stay at Lanehead old school was fantastic. The owners Lisa and Chris were lovely and extremely helpful. My car broke down on the way there and they offered to pick me up. They then offered to pick me up from the garage I had my car towed to. Excellent hosts. It was like staying with old friends! I can't recommend the place highly enough!

The CB Inn has the best of a pub in terms of atmosphere and welcome, but the status of a hotel with the quality of the rooms and brilliant cuisine. All the staff were interested and knowledgeable about the food we ordered. The setting is idyllic, looking down the peaceful dale, with walks all around from the doorstep.

Amazingly good value. Super friendly and helpful staff. EV charging for £15 overnight was a bonus. Plus a nice place to stay and a great night's sleep (room was clean, pretty, dark and comfortable super king bed)

Lovely place to stay overnight. Just one little thing - pillows were a bit lumpy.

We stayed for a wedding & it was fantastic. Hotel is truelly stunning & cant wait to stay again.

Lovely staff who were helpful and courteous. Beautiful views and comfortable bedrooms. Clean, nicely decorated with all you need and plenty of space. We had room 5. The food was very good and the choice excellent. Would highly recommend and would certainly return.

Breakfast was excellent, room nice though toilet right next to wall and smallest sink known to man in bathroom.

Fabulous place! Comfortable bed, lots of nice touches in the room. Breakfast nice, and dinner in the pub was very tasty (huge portions!). Perfect stay
