"Visited the manor for a stopover before visiting Alton Towers. Warm and friendly welcome, with our breakfast pre-order taken which meant we could get going in plenty of time to the theme park. Rooms have everything you need for an overnight pit stop; plenty of tea and coffee, decent bed, TV, and spacious bathroom. "Great location with stunning scenery. We enjoyed sitting on the outdoor terrace with drinks and wrap around scenery. We had a scrumptious meal in the traditional bar in the evening and were welcomed by wonderful friendly staff. 20 minutes drivecto Froghall station where we had a 2. 5 hr steam train ride theough more stunning scenery. Didnt use the spa but would recommend a return visit ."

"The building itself is old and as a result has a lot of charm, I needed somewhere to stay close to stoke hospital but didn’t want to break the bank, this hotel didn’t, the staff were all friendly bed was clean and comfy, I will say take toiletries though as the ‘complimentary’ ones consisted of 2 small soaps. Breakfast was lovely and worth the extra expense "
