"I had a 2nd floor room and there was no elevator. I'm getting too old to drag luggage up a flight of stairs. When I book a room, I wish they would state that this is not on the 1st floor and there is no elevator and then give you the option of choosing another room at a possibly higher rate. The room was clean and large. It had outlets to charge phones, etc. Breakfast had hot food, but there was a sign informing us that they would go to continental in November."

"The associate working on check in, Lucy, was not hospitable at all. I felt like we were bothering her with just checking in. Also later in the day the parking lot was completely full. I had to ask her where we could park and again she was very rude with her answer. "

Centrally located, it's a convenient, cost-effective choice that will be my go-to choice for all my business in the area. Eagle View Motel & Retreat

"Best thing about the stay was the view of the Mississippi River from our room. Room was clean. Had a fridge and microwave -- nice touch. Internet/Wi-Fi was sporadic; don't count on it for your usage. AC unit worked nicely but was noisy like most motels/hotels. The retreat overlooks Highway 52 on a bluff so you have a nice view of the River. On the downside, there is a rail line close by and trains roll through during the night blowing their whistles and semi trucks going by on Hwy 52 using their air brakes made for challenging nights. Good luck in getting a good, sound night's sleep. The exterior needs some TLC. The property had some nice features such as lounge chairs, grill, and fire pit. But the deck leading to the 2nd level is deteriorating. The structure could use some repair and paint. The grounds seemed to have a natural prairie look but there were weeds to take away from the attempted natural beauty. In summary, the Retreat had some nice features but also could be improved to make a person's stay more enjoyable. Since we didn't spend much time in our room other than sleeping and cleaning up, the negative aspects of the property didn't impact us much."
