Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. Our waitress was friendly and efficient, Overall our stay was excellent and great value for money.

Very well appointed clean room, comfortable bed etc. Host was extremely helpful with local information & directions for the next leg of my journey. As I was making a 5.30 am start the following day they knindly agreed to leave me a picnic in the fridge to take with me.

We return to the forge after 10year .this is where we got married and I was still as wonderful. And not far from the centre of Gretna . We had dinner in the restaurant there and the food was delicious and lots of it .We returned back to out room to find a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our 10th wedding Anniversary compliments from the Mill..And breakfast was a full Scottish breakfast and very nice .The staff then and now are still amazing always smiling and helpful. Convenient for Wigton

Great place for a short stay to break up a longer journey. The room was clean throughout, staff friendly and helpful on arrival.

The owner was extremely attentive, even got some decaf coffee for our room. We were able to book into our room early which was very convenient. The room was very clean and even little touches like cotton buds and cotton wool in the bathroom didn’t go unnoticed. This hotel was a gem of a find. Just off the motorway at the central Carlisle junction. Nice countryside setting, with outside seating, lovely for a summers night overnight stay. Nice dinner menu, food was excellent, 2 course special offer. Bonus that their monthly quiz night was on, we didn’t win but it was a nice extra to start the evening. Excellent position right in the centre of town. Our room was enormous but unfortunately was looking its age. However you expect that the hotel is not a spring chicken. We didn't eat here so cannot comment on the food service.

For me it was most definitely the staff. Cheryl & Robert. I arrived and was greeted by them both. As a stranger to the area they settled me into the hotel, which is centrally located in the town. When asking for local taxi numbers Cheryl asked where I was going, once told she offered to take me to my goddaughter wedding venue, above a beyond but greatly appreciate.
