This was one of those places that is a pleasant surprise, not because of anything major, but because everything is done well, and without fuss or annoyance. The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive or overbearing, the hotel is clean and well maintained in both private and public areas. The food is good and the location is convenient for both local facilities and travel further afield.

This Hotel is a family run business with a focus on hospitality and friendliness. The room was adequate for what we wanted but was old fashioned with a small balcony. Everything else about this hotel was exceptional, the pool area, the breakfast, the cuisine all 5 star. Then you walk out of the pool area into the very well kept gardens and the ponds. Within the ponds you find an array of friendly turtles, if you remember to take a few slices of bread from the breakfast table these turtles...

We last stayed at Hotel Monaco 16 years ago. It hasn't changed much, but its been refreshed. We stayed for one night as its really close to the airport and convenient if you have a morning flight but dont want to get up early from your main location. Really easy to find and plenty of parking outside. Lovely rooms and the bar serves quite good food at reasonable prices. Loved this guest house, as needed somewhere for one night before leaving Portugal. We had a geound floor room, and the beach view was higher than our level, but you can see the sea when standing. Lovely to hear the waves, and i was concerned it was under the flight path but very little plane noise too. There was a party on the roof that night so we couldnt use, but there are so many other bars and restaurants on the strip it didnt matter, and everyone had packed up and gone by 9.30. Would...

Chose this hotel as it was close to the beach and nature reserves. Beach was closed for maintenance but we were able to skirt round and walk for miles! Reserve nearby was full of birds, including a pair of Hoopoes, which made my holiday. Hotel staff are attentive and rooms comfortable and clean. We stayed in the older part of the hotel but found the room perfectly acceptable, with a nice view from the balcony. Food was very high standard, not the cheapest but well worth the price in my opinion.

Absolutely lovely place to stay. The staff are lovely. The room was right sized and clean. Every part of the common areas was also very clean. The breakfast was also very good with a wide range only options The only bit of a small bother was the location which is a bit away from the main attractions. But the hotel provides a pick up and drop option. Although you are best off if you have your own car

Hotel was lovely and clean, breakfast was delicious (including: pancakes, fruit, full English, breads, pastries, hot drinks and juices). Hotel was practically on the beach. The loungers on the beach weren’t free which was a little disappointing considering the price. The beach was beautiful, nice sand and a little rocky in parts. Locals were lovely, much quieter than Vilamoura as the area was more a native Portuguese holiday area. Amazing holiday- would return!!!

Staff could not have been more helpful; including giving guidance on how to travel by coach/bus to Vilamoura, I was grateful for the attention to detail - even printing off the timetable for me, and discussing the practicalities.
