What an absolute gem of a place. I didn't want to leave! After a 2 week road trip, we wanted somewhere an 'easy' drive of SJO airport before our longhaul flight, and this place was perfect. We felt it extended our holiday because we instantly totally relaxed. The rooms had lovely comfortable beds and stunning views. We booked all 3 pods for a 1 night stay on the way back to the airport after touring Costa Rica and all were excellent, privately located with an outdoor kitchen, toilet, shower, balcony and jacuzzi. Although quite remote, they do offer a takeaway delivery service from a local restaurant, and the town is approx 15 minutes away. Important to note that the transparent pod is down a steep windy narrow path with lots of uneven steps, which is quite difficult to walk up and down and a real challenge...

Gorgeous stay at the Retreat! We ate well and relaxed - the place is done very, very well, with beautiful views and very comfortable rooms. The only complaint I have is that the mattresses could have been better (which is often the case in hotels). We didn’t get up to much on our short stay besides lounging by the pools and in the spa and working out in the perfectly well equipped gym, but we did do one yoga class which was lovely - the studio is beautiful. The room was implacable and all staff have been extremely friendly, polite and very attentive. The food was varied and very nice every day. Good list of cocktails and the bar staff would also happily give you something that is not on the list or make all the twists you asked for, and they would remember you even though the resort was very busy. Didn’t use the parking so cannot comment on that. We had a perfect 8 night stay and would very happily return to the resort.

This was a really well kitted out apartment. Probably the best we have stayed in in 4 weeks of being in Costa Rica. The owners have thought of everything. Nothing was missing from the well stocked kitchen. We didn't get to use the pool but it looked lovely. I'd highly recommend this place. There's a great restaurant on the corner called Chepes Bar and I'd highly recommend doing the Crocodile Man tour
