"Hotel area a little tired especially entrance stairs, room was good a bit cold on entry but soon warmed up once I worked out the aircon unit which is explained in a handy instruction guide. Food was very good and the discount for guests was a nice touch "

"Fantastic old property that has been sympathetically restored / converted with fantastic rooms. Brilliant breakfast and typical Peak District hospitality….. Easy walk into the village too, where there’s shops and a couple of very good pubs too. We stayed three nights and could easily have stayed longer…. Hell Yeah!"

"The hotel was originally a Premier Inn, and has been taken over by Chatsworth, with plans to renovate it. The room we had was good. The breakfasts were good, and evening meals were OK, but just traditional pub fayre. Staff friendly. Reception needs to be signposted better, but I guess that will be all part of the refurbushment."
