Tossa de Mar Hotels

Tossa de Mar is a paradisal beachfront town based on Spain’s golden Costa Brava, in the Catalonia region. The town is grouped between rocky, tree-studded outcrops, extending inland to become an enormous, forest-rich stretch of wild rolling hills - perfect for nature-lovers. The town itself blends the modern comforts of resort-style hotels with an authentic old-world local charm. History-buffs will love the ancient heritage sights, and foodies will go wild for the seafood restaurants.

Things to see

Begin your bright and balmy Tossa de Mar day by soaking up the many wonders of Old Town. This captivating collection of medieval-era buildings - still hemmed-in by the original battlemented walls - is a source of wonder for architecture enthusiasts. Wander through the narrow cobbled streets, past the looming Gothic church, and find the Municipal Museum. This quaint museum blends art with history - one floor showcases Ancient Roman archaeological artefacts, and another displays local and regional artwork - including a surreal Chagall painting. After, amble to the nearby Castelo Tossa de Mar, an immense 14th century castle perched above the bay and town below. Climb the stone steps, walk through the vine-clad courtyard, and gaze at the perfectly-preserved turrets. If you want to see even more heritage, visit the magical Roman villa ruins on the edge of town. But if you just want to catch some rays, head to the sugary sands of the central Platja Gran beach.
