Things to see

When it comes to beaches, you're truly spoiled for choice on Mykonos. Paradise Beach is a perennial favorite with the young party set, with lively open-air bars and an array of water sports on offer. Elia Beach is particularly popular with the large gay crowd that descends on the island each summer. Agios Ioannis Beach, made famous by the movie Shirley Valentine, is the perfect place to catch a spectacular sunset. The iconic, whitewashed Windmills of Mykonos are the island's oldest landmarks, dating back to the 16th century. Entry to the hugely popular Agricultural Museum of Mykonos grants you access to the interior of one of the windmills, which has been lovingly preserved and remains fully functional. Little Venice, with its gorgeous medieval waterfront houses, is the most romantic spot in Mykonos Town. A sunset cocktail in one of its elegant bars is an essential part of any trip here.
