"The owner contacted us with detailed information regarding check-in, breakfasts, places to eat etc before arrival. The room was lovely and the bathroom luxurious. The breakfasts were beautiful - muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit from the garden, fresh coffee, toast and warm croissants. It was a lovely break. The house is very close to the little village of Painswick, a walk or very short drive from Slad, Laurie Lee country."

"The view from our terrace room was across the green and rolling hills, with scattered sheep and a few stone farm house. Very pleasant. The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature in the room just right. The breakfast Jeanina cooked was excellent. The B&B host went out of his way to get us to and from a working bus stop since the road was closed and buses not going through the village. So super helpful. "

"Lovely hotel with amazing views. The staff although a bit scared at times, were excellent. Gloucester is easily reachable by car, we had a fantastic meal at the docks both for dinner and a late breakfast. The cathedral is a must, we had a really interesting guided tour."

"A Characterful Coaching Inn set in lovely countryside - staff on the reception were very good, Bar and waiting staff, young but pretty good. The 2 steak dishes we had were also pretty good. We'd certainly stay here again. The Cosy Double Room we had just for 1 night was very clean and in excellent condition."

"A traditional hotel stay in a great location in Birdlip, right next to the Cotswold Way. There is a really pleasant walk direct from the car park around fields or through some woodland next to the Cotswold way that offers incredible views towards Gloucester. The room itself was fine, with some aspects requiring some modernisation, as some areas around the property could do with some maintenance and a refresh. However, I always like to stay here as the food is good and staff friendly enough. ...

The swimming pool, sauna and steam were well maintained however our room needed a few repairs and the towels had seen better days. We would give it an 8/10"
