"The ambiance of this historical hotel makes it an experience, they went all out for Halloween! The staff was so friendly and helpful with directions on parking. And a bonus was the breakfast selection - so much better than many other hotel breakfasts!"

"Very nice historic hotel in good downtown location. Lovely bar too. Restaurant was quite $$$ so we didn’t eat there - lots of reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance."

"Good location. But the parking is not "

"Very nice! Clean, good beds, nice decor, good food!"

"Exterior is currently under refurbishment but it hardly interferes with the stay. Be warned, it’s close to the rail yard and those trains will blast off multiple times per night. Desk staff was best I’ve had at IHG. Super clean and I love the choice of pillows. You get what you pay for and it’s reasonable."

"Good hotel. Friendly staff. Location not too bad. However if you click on directions to hotel (from hotel.com app) it didn’t take us right to the hotel so that was a bit of a pain."

"Great location. Pleasant staff. Good restaurant. Comfortable room. Very positive experience!"

"Great location. Learned parking in street or city garage is a lot cheaper then theirs. Clean and very modern."

"Valet was great. Restaurant & breakfast buffet were good; however, the food on the buffet was cold. Starbucks staff was friendly."

"Conveniently located by the baseball park"

"The hotel was wonderful setting on River - the room was great and staff was very helpful!! Also close to everything down town!!"

"Clean updated historic hotel in downtown Des Moines. Excellent staff and accommodations. Conveniently located within walking distance to venues, restaurants and other entertainment."

"The hotel was very clean. It is dated and could use a reno. Overall great stay and staff was very helpful and friendly. Location was perfect for our visit."

"Convenient parking to location"

"A little upcoming gem in Des Moines! The rooms are better than what you typically get for this price and they are upgrading the hotel to be an affordable boutique hotel in the area. The owner, Dennis, was very kind. If you are on a budget, definitely don't let the outside turn you away. Appreciated my stay. "

"Parking lot situation is curious. It was convenient for where I had business. I would probably stay there again "

"This place was the cleanest I have stayed at, all of the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was great since they give you a parking pass. Checking in and out was a breeze."

"The location worked well for my needs. I will stay again. Thank you."

"The property was very clean, the staff was friendly, the pool was nice, they also have an outdoor basketball court which was nice. "
