Lavasa Hotels

Clustered around the banks of the Dasve Lake, Lavasa’s innovative buildings sum up the bold utopian principles of ‘New Urbanism’. Every element of this new city’s design has been carefully considered, and the architecture and layout has been calculated to improve quality of life, while minimizing the impact the city has on the environment as it expands. Sat amid undulating green countryside, Lavasa gives you a chance to see India at its most beautiful, and to enjoy an action-packed, outdoor vacation.

Feel the gentle rise and fall of each ripple of calm water, before you lean forward to open up the engine on your jet-ski and tear through the water like a torpedo. Lavasa’s residents make great use of the lake that the city borders and, whether you’re a speed junkie or prefer leisurely pleasure cruises, getting out on the water is an essential part of Lavasa life. The promenade is designed to be the town’s relaxation epicenter, and it comes alive as the sun sets. Stroll along the shorefront – where synchronized fountains spurt jets of water into the air to music - before stopping off at one of the many restaurants. Sit down to sample a local specialty like spicy Misal Pav curry with soft bread - or international fare like pizzas and burgers. The dense forestry that backdrops Lavasa hides treasures like beautiful waterfalls, clear streams, and sprawling lakes - so make sure you take a guided tour, or get out by yourself to hike the Temghar Reserved Forest Area at some point during your stay.

Hotels in Lavasa

As a new build city, Lavasa’s accommodation is fresh, modern and well-equipped - with the tempting smell of saffron seeping out from the kitchens. You’ll find everything you could need in your room - from fully adjustable air conditioning units, to satellite TVs and electronic safes. Lavasa hotels provide great views of the town’s vibrant scenery, and there’s no better way to lap it all in than by sitting back with a strong coffee and buttery croissant on your balcony. Attached spas, outdoor pools and modern gyms ensure everyone leaves Lavasa in a Zen-like state

Where to stay

Stay in the city center to have easy access to the illuminated bridges that lead to the promenade, and its waterside restaurants. If you’d rather sit outside with a bottle of wine, watching the city glitter below your feet, stay in comfortable accommodation further up the hills. Another option is to find a hotel in the much larger city of Pune, and head over to Lavasa for a daytrip. An hour and a half long drive connects the two cities, and you’ll feel revitalized with energy after a stay amongst the bustling markets of Pune’s Old City.

How to get to Lavasa

If you’re already in India, flying to Pune is likely to be the easiest route to Lavasa, and you can hire a car from the airport before driving over on the smooth expressway. Buses also make the trip over and, as Lavasa is designed to be entirely walkable, you may not need to rent a car if you don’t want to. International visitors are likely to find flying directly into the international airport at Mumbai the best option. Enjoy the city a little, before taking the 216 kilometer drive to Lavasa.
