"Simply put, this is the gold standard in Heidelberg. What a lovely hotel, physically beautiful, and a great staff."

"Fantastic rooms for families and in a great location for exploring Heidelberg! Staff were lovely and welcoming and the room is very well equipped. We opted not to go for breakfast so can't comment on the food, but the drinks at the bar were great. Would definitely stay again, by far our best stay in Heidelberg so far!!"

"Fantastic breakfast, friendly staff"

"In the heart of the city. Wonderful staff. Lovely breakfast. Facility is NOT handicap-accessible. It is within a two-minute walk of the Bergbahn to the castle and Bus 20 stop to/from the train station. American travelers be advised this is a fine place to stay if you are open to a comfortable, clean place to stay a night ot two. "

"Courteous staff. Great location. "

"Hemingway Hostel is a hidden gem. Location, character, friendly staff and absolutely delectable food including plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, it has it all. Book this place for an unforgettable stay in the beautiful city of Heidelberg. "

"We were very pleased by our stay at the Altstaft. It is a small boutique hotel that isn’t fancy but it is in great condition, super clean and in a great location near Bismarckplatz, transportation and the Main Street for shopping and dining. Walkable in 15 minutes to the funicular to get to Schloss Heidelberg. Would go back for sure."

"Very pleasantly surprised. Given the very reasonable price, I came in with low expectations. But wow, though the rooms are small, they are quite nice. Recently remodeled it seems, and very clean. There’s a lot of attention to detail in all the small things in the design and upkeep of the rooms: someone went out of their way to cool all of the power cables for TV, phone, etc and cable tie them, there’s nice ledges for toiletries in the bathroom and inside the shower, and the bed is very soft. "Next to tram station. Great location with nearby restaurants and grocery store. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely stay here again."

"This is a very well maintained, modest hotel in a lovely part of town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating but note that the reception desk closes between 10:30p and 6:30a. The hotel is small and not spectacular but for a simple, straightforward stay in Heidelberg on a charming square (with a farmers market some mornings) it’s really exceptional. "

"The room was spacious and beautiful. The owner of the hotel was very friendly, provided lots of useful tips and information."

"Nice, clean rooms. Convenient after hours check-in. Great if you enjoy staying out of the busy activity and walking to a quiet, more residential area."

"Very nice hotel with a great location to enjoy downtown Heidelberg."
