The breakfast was very nice with many good things you could order in addition to the buffet. We liked the location of the hotel- a little bit tucked away but still close to the city center. Bar in the hotel was really cool and leans into the theme of the hotel (being a former TV studio) and drinks were sublime. "I had a wonderful 1-night stay at the Maternushaus. The location was perfect, within walking distance from the Cologne main train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). The facility was very clean, and, while not fancy by any means, it had all that I needed: a very clean single room with private bathroom and a comfortable bed, TV, several electric outlets, good WiFi, etc. The included breakfast was excellent, and there's also a free drinking water station. "I only stayed for one night and the staff was super helpful and very friendly. I was not able to arrive on time for the check-in due to a delayed night train, and they helped me out to make sure I got access to my room. Very clean and good amenities like AC. Great location only 5 min walk from the train station. I recommend it!"
