High Wycombe Hotels

Located in Buckinghamshire, High Wycombe offers the best of both worlds, sitting neatly between the big smoke of London and the Chilterns Area of National Beauty. Most of its architecture reveals a prosperous Victorian heritage, with grand redbrick buildings and elegantly paved squares, but there is also a sense of regeneration and renewal in the town. It’s a great family destination, with a vibrant shopping and café scene in the centre, and charming villages and countryside areas to explore nearby.

Things to see

High Wycombe’s city centre is a compact and pleasant place to amble and shop in, taking in the grand, Victorian town hall and tree-lined squares. The gleaming, glass-fronted Eden shopping centre is leading redevelopment in the town, and it provides several entertainment venues and restaurants alongside the wide array of shops. A short drive away is the quaint Bekonscot Model Village, which has been in operation since 1935. It is a complete miniature city, showing changes over time. It will delight children and provide nostalgia for adults. To the north of the town, the Chiltern Hills offer some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country, and encompass pretty villages. One of them, Great Missenden, is home to the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre. It is a magical place for children, who can sit in Roald Dahl’s writing chair, play games and gorge themselves on Bruce Bogtrotter’s chocolate cake.
