"Quirky old building, so, some steep staircases. Unfortunately we arrived whilst they were doing some renovations, so, not everything was available. But the continental breakfast was good the next morning. The rooms were ok, we were lucky to get a river view (for free, if booked in advance that costs extra) quite a small twin room, en suite bathroom. Sadly no air con, we did have a small fan and left the patio doors open overnight. The bathroom was ok, the duty manager said they are all being refurbished over winter. Shower was average, not much pressure and took a couple of minutes ti figure out. They only had one small towel rail, so, I suggested to the manager about perhaps a couple of hooks on the back of the bathroom door. Then he says they are replacing over winter, so they won't add hooks yet.
In the room there were tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge, a desk, a small wardrobe with a safe inside and even an iron and ironing board. Sockets by the desk had USB sockets too. Overall nice. I think once the refurbishment is completed it will be cracking. There's also a bar with outdoor seating, as well as outdoor seating by the river. The hotel is next to a toll bridge which does cause queuing. £1.20 to cross over in a car.
Parking is limited, first come first served. £10 for the whole stay, which is good value. I'd say there are perhaps15 spaces. You pay when you check out. The staff were nice. Ellie the duty manager was particularly lovely."
