Wonderful stay in this beautiful property where we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room was fabulously decorated with many unique and quirky items to enjoy, the large bathroom was equipped with bath and shower and plenty of lovely toiletries. Lots of choice for breakfast which was plentiful and delicious would definitely recommend a stay here and hope we will return in the near future.

This was a treat! Canopy bed, stone stairway with tapestries, exquisite furniture. I felt like I had entered a Jane Austen novel. Wish I could have spent a week here.

What an amazing stay!
Well where to start... Our stay was perfect!! When we drove up we was amazed by the location and look of the village. Homestead is a very high end quante place with amazing people hosting. Everything was so enjoyable including; seperate bath, breakfast, hotel design, comfortable bed, interaction with both hosts and excellent food for dinner around. I also was so shocked about the price of everything. A very delightful place and will be visiting again very soon.

Very nice, but a bit isolated
A private home from the 16th century with a very welcoming host and hostess. Marketed as "luxury B&B", and that's an apt description. The drawback is that it's located between villages, so any dinner requires a drive (and therefore no beer or wine). Personally, I'd had a big lunch and a tiring drive through the Yorkshire Dales, so I skipped dinner.

Lovely stay at the Homestead, Maria & Kevin were perfect hosts. Lovely room on top floor with ever so comfortable bed and everything you wanted in room & bathroom. Breakfast was amazing, would love to come back in the future.

Lovely stay
Lovely weekend away, enjoyed our stay at the Homestead, Maria and Kevin were fantastic hosts. Melling is very quiet so you will need to drive to a shop/pub, that said we did walk to the pub, 45 mins. Definitely recommend and were made very welcome in their beautiful home.

Wonderful location. Amazing house. Owners very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was lovely. Bed was a little small and the roll top bath is really good if you around 5ft.

The Homestead
The Homestead, a beautiful B&B with great character. Sits in Melling about 5 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale.
The hosts Kevin snd Maria, couldn't do enough to make our stay as memorable as possible. Kevin dropped us and picked us up from one of the local pubs, that we had booked in for ouf evening meal. Whilst Maria cooked wonderful breakfasts.
Definitely worth a visit, we are looking to book again.

Absolutely amazing
We had an amazing experience at homestead kevin and maria were fantastic and very attentive hosts and our room was extraordinarily beautiful . The breakfast was also 5 star and we mentioned the day before it was our wedding anniversary today and when we came down for breakfast they had left us a card and chocolates will definitely be returning and very soon x

Outstanding hospitality, your kindness was very much appreciated.
We have stayed in some fabulous accommodation but The Homestead is magnificent! I’ve never seen anything like it!
I’d would recommend to anybody.
Such a lovely couple who own and live there, extremely generous and very helpful.
The breakfast, facilities are unmatched in my opinion, they truly go above and beyond for their guests.
