Ideally situated in middle of Chester
This was my latest stay in what has been a number of stopovers in the MacDonald New Blossoms Hotel. It is ideally situated right in the middle of Chester. The staff are always so pleasant. I hope to stay there yet again on my next trip to England’s most underrated city.

They scam .
When I checked it , they need me to fill up online form. The app requires me to pay 30 pounds deposit and claim refundable. The app is not processing if I am not paid anyway.i trusted that i have not captured any screenshot for prove. Of course the kept my deposit and replied me it was non refundable.
They are scammer.

The hotel building was historic but nice. No fans in the room, area around hotel was noisy lots of people yelling and swearing at all hours. The breakfast buffet on the Sunday was empty when we got there.

We requested a quiet room! and had one nearest to night-club ,which was still going at 6 AM very loud music, room and facilities very tired, property needs a refit. All windows broken / stuck closed AC very ineffective would not stay here again.

Check in was great as I was able to do this earlier than normal and the staff were friendly. The room however, whilst comfortable, was quite dated in places and needs attention. Cracked and broken tiles in the bathroom and a hot water tap that was not connected properly.

A tired hotel that is badly in need of investment. Do not stay there. I travel a lot for business [2-3 times a month] and have never stayed in a worse place.

Room was roasting hot (no air con), room was dirty and dusty, bathroom was tiny and to open the shower/bath glass door you had to squeeze by the toilet. Windows only partially open.

Hotel staff friendly enough however hotel looks like it’s not been hoovered in years. Room full of black long hairs from someone else before. Fan didn’t work unbelievably hot room. Didn’t sleep a wink nor did my wife or the children. Shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Would not recommend.

The staff were good, but young. This is an older hotel and it is bound to have a few tatty edges. I had a lovely time there but in my heart knew this was a declining set up. A McDonalds chip lay on the floor in the lift at the beginning of my 7 day stay. It was still there when I left. Breakfasts were nice.

Noises from next door at the Marlborough who have a licence to 4 am !
Looking forward to dining - sorry there is no restaurant
