Great location to explore ancient Reading (there is some there!) recommend Vino Vito, lovely, sincere Italian Restaurant 5 minutes walk away. Really comfy bed!

Loved the proper coffee machine and a complimentary beer. Nice decor, comfortable bed, large bathroom. As previous reviews commented, you can hear the noise from the bar a bit, but it never bothered me (a light sleeper may want to bring some ear buds as the building is in the city centre so shouting outside can sometime be quite loud). But the location (close to station and amenities) definitely outweigh any issues. I would definitely stay again.

The hotel room itself was nice.
However, having to book in at the bar instead of a reception area is lacking. There was no one there to help.
Paid for a breakfast to only be given a brown bag breakfast with some fruit and a porridge container. Again- lacking.
The hotel is not convenient for uber/taxi collection directly outside- several Ubers cancelled as they can’t collect in front of the hotel.
It was VERY noisy in the evenings. Great if you’re young and want to party- not so great if you’re working and want to sleep.

Would love to be able to give this property 5 stars because the room and amenities were perfect.
Unfortunately though there was a 30th birthday party taking place in the hotel bar right under our room. The noise kept us up all night and we had no prior warning of this not even upon arrival when checking in. I would therefore not have paid the money that I paid for this room to be kept up all night. The room was so close that it felt like I was in the bar and if I opened the curtains everyone down below in the party would be able to look up and see me.
As well as this the breakfast bag unfortunately contained an apple that was going mouldy and not at all edible.

Enjoyed our stay at this quirky property. Room was nicely decorated, beds were comfortable, everything was clean, great location. As mentioned, the pub downstairs can be a bit noisy until 23:00-ish. Room had a coffee pod machine and there was bottled water and milk available in a communal fridge for free. Check in and out at the bar downstairs was smooth and easy. Solid choice in Reading.

I checked in out of hours and got an SMS from the hotel with details to self-check in which was easy. I left early the next morning so didn't engage with any staff but the online messages were responded to quickly and in a friendly way. Room was modern, clean and comfortable. Nespresso machine was a nice touch. Would certainly stay again
