Nice welcome friendly staff all round.

The bathroom needs attention to mould around the shower tray it’s not a deal breaker

Wonderful!
The Peacock & Elephant was a wonderful place to stay, we were a group of 6 in three rooms. The rooms were spacious and clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and supportive and accommodating. The food delicious and a really good atmosphere. The building itself is beautiful and many quality decorative touches everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend.

The Strutt Arms (my stay).
The Strutt arms was a great experience. The owners were very friendly and helpful. There is an Indian restaurant on site ,and also have other foods .
The standard double room was small ,but was very comfortable, it had a 37 inch television on the wall ,a portable fan,a comfy king-size bed and tea and coffee ,hot chocolate and biscuits if you feel peckish, and a complimentary jug of ice cold water as well. Internet access very good in the accommodation. Bus stop right outside if you want to explore around the area. And some lovely scenic walks close by.
Also the breakfast in the morning was continental or full English,but the staff do cater for your needs , it was a very nice breakfast. All in all a fantastic stay at The Strutt arms.

Stayed here one night, was clean, comfortable and friendly. The pancakes at breakfast were lovely. Shame we didn’t get time to eat idinner in the restaurant, the food smelt good.

Lovely staff, venue, parking, food/drink and vibe
Lovely welcoming staff and a fresh refit gave the best of both between old and new. The food was lovely too, predominantly Indian based which my wife and I enjoyed immensely. Parking is also very good and had the unexpected surprise of air conditioning in our room. If my wife’s bedside lamp had a bulb, then this would have been a flawless visit. Would certainly choose again.

The owner was extremely polite and helpful immediately we walked. The room was clean and equipped as per description. The staff were great and really polite and the bar and restaurant area had a nice atmosphere.
Having dropped our stuff and gone for a walk we checked out some other options to eat but returned to The Strufg Arms. We were not disappointed. I’ve been lucky enough to eat curries in a number of countries. The Railway Lanb was. absolutely amazing. So tasty and depth of flavour was brilliant.
In the morning we were served a full English that was lovely and again all the staff were lovely. I would highly recommend The Strutt Arms which is now known as The Elephant and Peacock.

The place was, on the whole, satisfactory: but a couple of things were flies in the ointment!
First, the place is no longer called The Strutt Arms; it's called the Elephant and Peacock, so we spent a while driving to and fro past the place, and were only told it was where we wanted when we called in to enquire the way!
Second we were not told that the place closes on Monday so no evening meal was available. When we asked where we could eat the very nice young man on duty could give us no exact advice as he was standing in for a friend and not really employed there!
However the breakfast was fine and the atmosphere cheerful.

Great reception on arrival and was taken to our room. The room was small but really nice and clean. The bed was really comfortable.
Breakfast on day one was ok for continental and the guy on duty was really friendly and chatty. Unfortunately they didn't have any butter which isn't great when having toast. He did find me some marmalade.
Day two breakfast had significantly less choice and they still didn't have butter. The girl explained that the delivery was due that day.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the facilities. The breakfast situation is why I've marked it down

Points for better service
It is a very nice and cozy B&B. Rooms very nice and spacious. The only couple of things we have to point is 1 every morning someone should go to the bedroom to at least replace bins, check if toilet rool need replacement and if is all good, even for 2 nights stay. The other thing and let us disappointed was the breakfast. Even though is a small breakfast, it should be served fresh baked croissants which can easely be done by getting them frozen and just bake them for 8 min, the taste would be much better. A fruit salad could be add as well and is not much more work to have. The bread could also well been fresh from a local bakery. This little things would make a huge positive difference in the breakfast. Don't need to be massive to be very pleasant and it can be achieve very easy.
Overall it was a nice stay, restaurant is very nice as well, very nice meals. The burger one could have a review and have more salad instead of half of plate of chips. Again they are little things that would make a huge positive difference.
