Very happy staycation
Very lovely stay to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. It’s my second time being here. They kindly upgraded our room and the service from front desk to spa and breakfast is all to a very high standard. Polite, warm and efficient even at busy hours. Would be happy to come again next year. A big thanks to the team!

The superior room was sublime. Spacious, huge bed and a big bathtub in the actual bedroom for a splash of luxury. Staff were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

The Hotel has fabulous grounds and a spa. The hotel is looking dated in certain places and the dorma window in our room did not work. This was a real pain as it was very hot when we stayed at the hotel. The food we had in the restaurant for dinner was delicious. We did not have breakfast there as paying over £30 for breakfast just seemed over the top.

Superb stay
We really enjoyed the hotel building, history and facilities. Staff excellent and ambiance great. Very relaxing environment with super spacious traditional room in clock tower. Breakfast excellent with prompt and attentive service. Walks around the grounds very enjoyable. Spa faciltiies looked good but not enough time on this occasion. Will return.

The hotel had beautiful views and gardens but the building was showing l poor maintenance, lack of repainting and threadbare carpet etc. The evening meal was £65 per person for 2 courses, unfortunately the quality of the food did not reflect the price and was very disappointing. There was a wedding reception at the same time and the service in the restaurant was very slow with not enough staff serving the guests.

Wonderful room (which we would like to stay in again) and the only tiny niggle was a poorly flushing toilet, which perhaps just reflects older plumbing arrangements. Great spa and, having stayed several times before, we noticed that the restaurant, which had always been good, seemed to have stepped up a notch into fine dining. We really enjoyed the meals, including the breakfasts, with great service from the restaurant staff. The grounds are always a pleasure to explore and not least this time in excellent April weather. Danesfield House never seems to disappoint!

Lovely old building, very interesting design, beautiful large hall inside with wood beams.
Nice gardens to stroll around.
The main restaurant food was great, & the bar area is very cosy. Lots of lovely cocktails to choose from.
Fantastic view of the river Thames (although no walkable direct path down to it).

I had a special 3 night break planned and booked to celebrate my birthday, several months prior ; but a couple of days before the start day, I was informed that the hotel could only put us up for two days, and the alternatives they offered, were not suitable.
So my special birthday break, was ruined by them, and although they ungraded me from a deluxe room (for 3 nights) to a duplex room ( for 2 nights), the daily rate for the 2 nights, was higher than the daily rate for three ! A pretty poor show, I hope you will agree. In the many, many years of my booking hotels all over the world, this has never happened before, and I very much hope it never will, again. But certainly, I would never use Danesfield house again.

Lovely weekend getaway
Lovely getaway…the spa facilities were top notch and the Jr. Suite and grounds were lovely. We had afternoon tea in the lovely orangery overlooking the countryside then room service for dinner and breakfast. Would do it all again.
