Whilst not unclean, rooms were a little tired and dated however, well priced and good access via Hagley road into the city centre. Great dedicated car parking onsite, although chargeable reasonable price for Birmingham. Good accomodation in comparison to some of the more expensive chain hotels. Staff very courteous and helpful. Nice pub serving Bar food and Drinks.

An unloved room, in a wing of an unloved hotel
The room was adequate and the location of this hotel is good for getting into the city centre. There are also many restaurants within a relatively short distance.
The room was in a wing at back of hotel. It felt quite separate. There was no room service during the 3 night stay. Some areas of room (e.g. TV screen) had old stains that had been there for some time.

Terrible Experience
Room very old fashioned and dirty (someone needs to learn how to clean mirrors!) we were told that our rooms were the refurbished ones? looking at all the stains on the walls I really don't think so. Hot water coming out of cold tap, told staff 3 times during our stay but just said they will report it to maintenance upon check out, they do not replenish or service your room and we were not told on check in, we just got told we should have read the welcome pack in the room (whoever reads them?) we asked for toilet rolls, clean towels etc... at 3pm, we finally got them at 7pm. Not a pleasant stay which spoiled our annual trip to HOYS - will NEVER stay here again and I suggest other people avoid!

Pretty run down property, needs a lot of TLC. Never stayed at a hotel before that has run out of tea bags at breakfast of all things. Food in the restaurant was nuked before leaving the kitchen

Nice hotel with friendly staff
Very nice hotel , the staff were very helpful and friendly, and personalised my stay.
Older main building with lots of charm, and all the staff were very nice, bedrooms are in a newer part of the building.
Breakfast were good with a wide range of options and hot food is cooked to order

It was a good stay. Reception staff helpful and room good. No bottled water in the room was a surprise.
The restaurant was for breakfast only and the expectation was that you would order food in.
The location was convenient for me and I’d stay there again.

Stayed 1 night in a suite for cricket the following day at Edgbaston.
The suite was huge with separate rooms within it and worth paying the little extra for.
Sinead on reception and bar is an absolute star, nothing was ever too much trouble for her, no matter how busy she was.
Location was great with a 15 minute walk to the canal area where there are numerous restaurants and only a 1/2 walk to the ground.
Our stay was perfect, thank you.

We paid 22.00 for 2 breakfast. It was 10.00am bfast did not finish till 10.30. No bacon. Fried eggs looked dry no hash browns. Dried beans. No plates. Asked for fresh eggs and bacon obviously plates. Plates. Came. Eggs. Which went cold as took at least 15 mins for 4 slices of bacon between myself and partner. Breakfast area should always. Have the food regardless of the time. I kept asking the waitress how long for the bacon. Not good at all

Friendly hotel in good location
Lovely old hotel in a great location for visiting Birmingham. Tram stop is an easy walk away.
Our room was in a modern annex. Its a bit of a trek through the hotel corridors with several sets of steps en route. The room was large and comfortable with a settee and a comfortable bed.
Good buffet breakfast included but they dont seem to do evening meals.
Very friendly staff.
Overall a good price but if you book on Hotels.com they charge a hefty £9.50 a day car parking. Other than that it was good value
