The place was ok. it was pretty much no frills and no real open area downstairs... no breakfast. Beds were nice and it having the kitchenette was nice as well. it was exactly what we were looking for.

Everything was adequate. The room had some kind of spots on the floor that should have been cleaned up prior to our arrival. No breakfast, but expected that. Good location.

Arrived and no one was around to check us in. We waited for almost an hour then left and came back. Still had to wait. So tired after a long drive and couldnt check in. The hotel should have more than one employee on staff at all times. Other than that the stay was fine. The employees were nice.

I had a great stay at the Candlewood Hotel in Virginia Beach. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and my room had everything I needed plus more. The price was definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay in Virginia Beach.
Here are some of the specific things I liked about the hotel:
The room was clean and well-maintained.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy.
The bathroom was spacious and had a great shower.
The kitchenette was well-stocked with everything I needed to cook a meal or heat up leftovers.
The hotel was located in a convenient area, close to restaurants, shops, and attractions.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The price was very reasonable.
Overall, I had a great experience at the Candlewood Hotel in Virginia Beach and would definitely recommend it to others. Thank you so much.

Checking in was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in my life. The room was alright, nothing to write home about, but there was this terrible smell of old Chinese food in the room. Also from a security standpoint, I’d give this place a huge F! The door that’s supposed to be secured for guests by key card, could just be easily opened by anyone and I didn’t feel safe at all knowing that. Overall, this was the last time I stay at any Candlewood Suites. Every time is a bad time

The team at Candlewood Suites Virginia Beach Town Center deserves real credit for their outstanding customer service. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They made check-in smooth and were quick to address questions or requests throughout my stay.
That said, the property itself is in serious need of renovation. The furniture, flooring, and fixtures feel outdated and worn, and some areas of the hotel could use a deep cleaning. It’s clear that maintenance and updates haven’t kept pace with what guests expect from an IHG property.
One odd and inconvenient policy: basic kitchen appliances like toasters and blenders are locked up in the lobby, and you have to check them out. For an extended-stay hotel, where guests rely on those amenities, that’s a hassle and not guest-friendly.
If IHG invests in much-needed upgrades and refreshes the space, this hotel has the potential to be a great option—especially with such an excellent staff already in place. But until then, expect great service paired with a less-than-ideal facility.
