Hotel was a bit tired and staff were a little thin on the ground but it was extremely clean, beds were comfortable and staff were uniformly friendly and helpful. For the price, it was excellent value

4/10 Fair

Unfriendly hotel staff, dated hotel furniture & very very uncomfortable beds. Would not recommend.

Clean, quiet and comfortable

A comfortable stay in a very clean and spacious room. The area was quiet, and there was plenty of car parking space. The only problem we had was that there were no evening meals served during our stay which meant that we needed to go back into the town after a long Sunday of travelling.

Half term stay

The last stop of our half term staycation, had stayed here before in springtime, decided to return to view the autumnal colours…. Didn’t disappoint!!! Lovely hotel in a beautiful location…. definitely feel relaxed and energised after a visit!

Ilkley bah 't 'At

Couldn't ask for more. Nit-picking? The only thing missing is a bus stop just outside the hotel to take us into town and avoid the ridiculous parking charges JM

6/10 Good

could be good

Sadly the hotel seems rather dowdy and past its best. Everything seems in need of a makeover. No food available on a monday night and the bar is overpriced and the wines are at best average Few guests made it soulless to sit in the bar
D, 1-night trip

Noisy with people slamming doors and shouting outside late at night

8/10 Very good

Hotel quality not what it used to be. Needs a refurbishment. Staff really friendly, accommodating and flexible. Decent value for money.

8/10 Very good

Had a lovely break. Only downside was the bed was two singles/twins connected and I kept falling down the middle gap as well as the floorboards creaking all night keeping me up but other than that it was a lovely stay. Also we were disappointed to NOT be informed that the spa was closed and no communication prior to arrival
2-night trip

2/10 Poor

Honestly book somewhere else.

First room we were given had the smell of stale urinne. Only one other room available which was a small dingy room at the rear of the hotel. We booked a double but didn't even get a double bed. We got a three quarters which was uncomfortable. Complained to reception but told the manager doesn't work weekends. Breakfast ok. All in all, really not what you expect from a hotel in 2024. Paid £122 but worth around £38.

Beautiful hotel friendly staff

Stayed here Thursday and Friday night, staff were friendly and our room was amazing, huge with a massive stand alone bathtub shower and 2 sinks, there was a dressing room up a few stairs overall a great room, went to book in the spa and thought the price was a bit ott for the size of the pool and the fact i wouldnt even use the steam room or sauna so the lovely receptionist reduced the price so that was great, my only issue was the food at breakfast, typical hotel food and we mentioned the sausages looked raw because they were.. but we were told despite the look they are cooked! The coffee machine isnt worth bothering with as nothing from it was nice, overall dissapointing breakfast but would still reccomend this hotel and definitely go for an executive room especially room 112,

6/10 Good

Not as welcoming as usual

The hotel is in a lovely spot in the town of Ilkley, although it is up a hill, almost a mile from the town centre. We have stayed at Best Western Hotels many times over the years and found that this one didn't meet the usual standards. After parking our car in the car park we were faced with a set of very steep steps to get us up to the road outside the hotel and then more steps up. On checking in, we were ignored by the first member of staff we saw, but after a while another member of staff came to our rescue and mentioned that younger woman was learning the ropes. Fair enough as we all have to learn, but the young member of staff could have said someone would be with us soon instead of just leaving us standing there. Our room, number 234, was up in the loft to the second floor, then down steps then immediately up another steep set of steps with our suitcases! We are both pensioners and not in the first flush of youth! The room was fine, but somewhat warm and we had to leave the window open each night to breathe. At reception, there were hardly any tourist leaflets (we were told they had been removed) and a street plan of Otley, not Ilkley. The staff member managed to find me one but the reception did not have any for the 3 days we stayed, just the Otley town plan! Not useful for their residents! The next day we couldn't access our room. Probably due to the learner on the first day as the key had been wiped. All those steps up and down twice at the end of a busy day!
Marie, 3-night trip

6/10 Good

Checked in online,so that was easy. Enquirer as to breakfast timings at reception, was told 7-10(the restaurant manager was at the desk too) Arrived next morning for breakfast at 07:10.....very quiet, staff told me "breakfast at 08:00" ....back to my room with my very hungry upset son. Returned at 08:00 to a reasonable buffet selection.....but no milk anywhere to be found, "we've used more than we anticipated over Xmas, we waiting for a delivery "was the reply to many people's enquiries. So my son and many others couldn't have cereal, nor could anybody have milk in their tea/coffee. Was it beyond the thought process of the staff to buy milk locally before the breakfast service?! Unbelievable amateurish error! Didn't use pool or spa, nor the Brassiere. Final comment; I disliked being called "Buddy" by staff...having worked in Hotel and Catering management for 12 years myself, hotel guests were either 'Sir' or 'Madam'....I would never dream of calling a guest 'Buddy'!
