This hotel was really cool. Nice big room with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, a balcony, full kitchen. I really like how there’s 3 pools, with one of them being half indoor half outdoor + a huge hot tub, outside bar (only downside is they close before 7), plus direct beach access. I’d definitely stay here for a trip again

Loved the property and the condo. My only issues were the 2 small beds were VERY uncomfortable and anytime you moved they made a lot of noise. Also the tv in the master bedroom was set up where you had to get up and change the channel every time because the location of the box was behind the tv

Loved that it's right on the beach. Property itself is needs some updates which they seamed to be working on. The unit needs updated as the microwave was rusted and other things that gave a feel of not being cquite clean. The unit was clean just aged.

Bed super uncomfortable, patio furniture needs updated, need a Kureig/ more kitchen supplies, beach umbrellas at the front of the beach was an inconvenience if you wanted to sit close enough to watch your children. The bed was the biggest issue the sheets had lint balls on them and made them rough I woke up at 3am and went to the couch everyday we were there. Communication was great we were able to check in early.

I did like the pools and the beach. What I didnt like was the description of the condo I was given when I booked this trip through Expedia. The condo had cockroaches, and the description said it had a washer and dryer in condo. It did have the washer and dryer but the door was locked and I was told from Panhandle Getaways that the condo was not advertised with a washer and dryer. Then they do not provide beach towels at all. We are at the beach, how can they not offer beach towels. The amount of money paid for the condo should cover the $5 per beach towel, I had to purchase at the surf shop. Then, the toilet paper holder broke on the first day, and when I spoke with panhandle people I did tell them I wanted to be notified when they wanted to come in and fix it since there was not a safe in the room. They entered the room and fixed it without letting me know they were entering the room. This property is also not advertised that you can not get any assistance like towels, toilet paper, literally anything. The panhandle people did bring some trash bags and toilet paper after I complained. But I do feel these are things I shouldnt have had to request.

I was given an access code to the property. I made an attempt call the front desk of the resort to explain that the access code was not working when we arrived, then the front desk told me i needed to call expedia, bc i booked with a 3rd party I needed to call expedia to get the access code (again), which mind you I already had it. But it was not working. I then called Expedia and they told me they needed to to contact the resort as well. Neither parties were helping I waited over an hr and no one could help. I then called the number on the door which was another number for the resort. And that actually helped bc the gentleman had to RESET the code since the first code that was provided to me did not work. It only needed to be reset! The fact thatthe staff at the front desk of the resort did not explain that to me, and kept referring me to the Expedia was upsetting. The gentleman who i finally spoke to knew that the door access code have issues as times but no one else would elaborate that to me.

Upon entering the room it smelled old / moldy Another foul smell at other times. Sewer gas? Couldn’t located it. Bugs in the main bathroom. Unfortunately, for us they were doing hurricane modifications on the bldg. . 8:00 am workers were banging around. At 7:00am the garbage truck banging around too the bedroom window is next to it. No rest was had. Room was located on the first floor. View of people at the pool. Could see the ocean. Parking easy, checkin fast, room had everything needed for the stay. Had to drive everywhere. Not a location if you wanted to walk to a restaurant.

I came to Destin for my daughter’s 1st birthday celebration. Let me start off by saying my main purpose and goal was the ocean…and this unit did not disappoint. The pictures are dull compared to how beautiful it is when you walk onto the balcony. We could watch the sun set from the balcony. This rental had everything we needed except washer and dryer which was my mistake - I didn’t realize the one bedrooms do not have washer and dryers. We had issues in the beginning with the dishwasher and air conditioner ..both issues were fixed promptly. Any questions I had received a quick friendly response. As I mentioned before I came for the beach and that is where I was everyday until the sun went down..I was not there to critiqe each room and search for flaws. The bed was comfortable , I had hot water and working ice machine! Very close to Walmart , target and multiple other shops and food places , coffee shops and ice cream. 3 pools, cafe and tiki bar all great! They had security on property at all times and patrolled the area as well. I have nothing bad to say about this place - we had an amazing trip. Thank you for opening up your place and allowing us to soak up the beauty for the week !!

The Pelican Beach Resort in itself is a beautiful place with a fantastic location. The staff was very friendly and the areas in and around the resort were neat and clean. The room we stayed in however was not at all what I expected. To start off, when we got up to our room, the door was hanging wide open. We soon learned that's because it didn't stay shut unless you slammed it.The place was filthy. I took pictures because I could not believe the condition. The doors had caked on dirt, they clearly hadn't been washed in a VERY long time. The curtains had food/drinks spattered on them. The trim in the bathroom had paint spattered on them. It just wasn't what I was expecting at all, not even close. I'd love to send pictures if someone could tell me how to do so. Thank you for your time.

The unit we stayed in had a beautiful view. There were some little things we found.. like one of the pillow cases was dirty, my son found a bowl of cereal under one of the beds from the previous renters.. it had been there so long we had to let it soak to get it clean.. there was also water damage in various places in the condo and it smelled musty. Also, there is no ice machine on the property if you need ice for your coolers..
We didn’t find the staff to be too friendly.. we were told at arrival all the pools stayed open until 10:00pm, however, one pool closed at 6:00 every evening.. the gym hours definitely do not fit with everyone’s schedules.. some people are used to doing early morning workouts and it didn’t open until 7:00am.. For the price we paid to stay there, there were just so many things that weren’t as described. The overall best thing was the private beach and the view from our room. Not sure if we would ever stay there again due to the lack of communication and the lack of friendliness from the staff..
I didn’t take pics of all the little things, but I did take a pic of the cereal bowl my son found under the bed from someone who had stayed there before us..

I'd have to admit I liked everything about pelican Beach except for the Sandy Beach which you are unable to get close to it all because they're umbrellas and chairs which you were forced to rent if you wanted to get anywhere close to the water. I found myself going to public beaches just so I could be anywhere close to the water in my own chairs

The mattress was the worst mattress I have ever slept on in my life, I would have gotten more sleep on the beach. The next day we had to purchase a $175 mattress topper to be able to sleep. We even tried sleeping on the bunk beds which were horrible as well. The view from the balcony was beautiful. They also need to put black out curtains in the bedroom it is so bright in there it look like runway lights shinning in you face. The tv was not working in the bedroom, there was parts of the ceiling peeling off. The unit needs an update. I highly recommend the owner sleep a night in the unit. The front desk was not helpful just told us we need to get ahold of the people we rented from. We have been to Destin regularly over the last 10 years and this was by far the worse hotel stay aside from the view.
