    Sant’Agata Feltria white truffle festival

    Inland from Rimini is an area well known for truffles, especially the highly prized, sophisticated white truffle. In Montefeltro, this particular fungus naturally grows on the edge of fields of crops, in broad-leaved woodlands and near isolated plants. Different truffles grow in different seasons. The most sought after, the white truffle, grows in autumn, near oak and hornbeam trees. Black truffle grows in colder months, from November to March.
