Sa Soca is a traditional Spanish restaurant owned by a local family since 1976. Built in an old barn in the municipality of San Josep de sa Talaia, this restaurant is casual and charming. This is the kind of place you come to be welcomed as if you were a family member. The hosts speak many languages and they sing menus and recite Ibizan poetry.
The menu is made of truly traditional recipes of the local cuisine, including typical fish and meat classics, and homemade desserts. Paellas, bullit de peix (the local fish stew), sofrit pages (the meat stew) and some other dishes should be ordered at least a day in advance, to be prepared with fresh ingredients specially for you.

Bar Costa, in the centre of Santa Gertrudis village, is an old bar that’s regularly packed with locals. The must-try food here is bocadillo (the cured ham), which you can enjoy with toasts and tomato while sitting on the terrace overlooking the old church and a pedestrianised square. The food here is all about the cured ham – the snacks, sandwiches, and tapas all contain it.
If you take a seat inside, you won’t be disappointed. The walls of the bar are decorated with colourful paintings from local artists. This collection started in 1970, when the owner of the bar began exchanging meals for works of artists living in the village.
