Arlington, just across the Potomac River from Washington DC and the White House, has a lively cultural scene. The Lubber Run Park is home to an amphitheatre, which stages free weekend jazz and world music concerts during the summer months, from June through September.

Arlington is well endowed with green spaces, and the Potomac Overlook Regional Park’s 67 acres include landscaped gardens as well as areas left to grow wild for the benefit of animals. The park includes a section of the Potomac Heritage Trail, which runs along the tranquil banks of the river.
