Disney’s Magic Kingdom was the first-ever attraction to open at Orlando’s sprawling Walt Disney World, back in 1971. It remains one of the most popular theme parks in the world. With the iconic Cinderella Castle as its centrepiece, the park promises a long list of Disney-inspired rides, roller coasters, and attractions spread across an enormous 107-acre site. Disney’s Magic Kingdom is around 23.2 miles southwest from downtown Orlando.

Epcot takes on a fun and educational approach to entertainment, instead of focusing on rollercoasters and famous characters which are firm fixtures of other theme parks at Disney World. Instead, Epcot has 2 areas: Future World, demonstrating human endeavour and innovation, along with World Showcase, which is effectively a permanent world’s fair with 11 nations represented around a giant manmade lake.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is 1 of 2 water parks at the enormous Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Compared to the Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon has a bit more variety in terms of things to do, with opportunities to get up close to different species of sea life, as well as a few more traditional slides and flumes. Typhoon Lagoon has a good 10 or so waterslides, including the 2-person rollercoaster raft-like Crush ‘n’ Gusher.

Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park is part of the sprawling Walt Disney World Resort, just a few miles southwest of central Orlando. The concept at this theme park is rather wacky but undeniably fun. It’s built around the idea that it was once a ski resort which ‘melted into a watery wonderland’. A highlight is Mount Gushmore – home to one of the world’s tallest and fastest waterslides. There are plenty of other, less hair-raising slides and attractions to keep the whole family occupied for the day.
