Authentic safari experience, complete with luxury tent and high tea in the afternoon. The highlight of our trip was getting close to lion and elephant and Elias our game ranger was brilliant !
The trip was good and the lodge has great potential, but it definitely has some cons. Pros: The staff were very friendly (Dries in particular) and the game ranger was really good. He knew a lot about the animals and made us feel comfortable. We saw 3 of the Big 5 in one drive so we were happy. Cons: the furniture looks second hand and those in the lobby area were dirty. Despite being all inclusive the wine options were limited and they only had one selection per wine type. The staff were friendly, but the service was not up to standard. On one occasion we had to place our breakfast order 3 times and they brought each thing out one at a time not all together. The food wasn’t at the standard we expected for this kind of establishment. The contractor at the spa also tried to overcharge us and was on her phone when doing one massage... Dries did address this though and comped our treatments. The other thing that baffled us was that we were the only guests for one night and they put us in the room furthest from the lobby, where there was no wifi signal. We could not understand why they would do this
A perfect stay, almost seen all big five and really nice drinks and food.
