No frills, nice service, as expected
We had a perfectly nice stay here, came to town for work stayed to make a long weekend. Yes, the property has seen better days, (the door didn't sit perfectly in the jam, allowing in hallway noise, etc small stuff) but it was clean and serviceable. The front desk was very helpful and polite. Bit of a rougher patch of Hollywood Blvd but compared to any other major metro area I've been in lately not bad at all and several food choices and a CVS near by. They use a door code after hours which is nice, the one other review that mentions getting locked out, well that's on them. Same with the noise, yes it's near the busy streets and the freeway, but check your windows, our bathroom window was left cracked open maybe a half inch. Sounds crazy I know but that's is needed to let noise in; once we shut it no issues. I know algorithms doesn't reward honest reviews (like how many places are really 10's? How many are truly only 1s?) So I feel a little bad not going 10's but with reasonable expectations a solid 4/5, clean and friendly; great locations for those choosing to not have a vehicle. Didn't use parking, nor do I think I would of liked too, but knew that going in.

A cozy gem that could use a little polishing.
I'm a regular because The Hotel Hollywood is the most convenient and cost-effective hotel for my needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's clean, but...the rooms could use some TLC, e.g., the light over the shower in my regular room has been out forever, the bathroom vanity lights are mis-matched, the carpet is stained, etc. Rooms could also use a microwave, iron, electric kettle for tea or bring-your-own coffee - a few amenities like that would go a long way towards improving the guest experience. Protecting the two "loading zone" spots in front of the hotel would also be helpful as the valet for the hookah lounge across the street sometimes parks cars there. But if you need a clean room at a very fair price, The Hotel Hollywood is worth a try.
