The location was great. However, their Housekeeping was terrible and nobody seemed to care. We stayed 2 nights (a Friday & Saturday). We left our room to go sightseeing at 9:30 a.m. and were gone for about 5 hours. No Housekeeping was done to our room. We got back and my wife wanted to shower before going back out for the evening. But we had no fresh towels. She called down to the Front Desk at 3;15 and told the gentleman our situation. He first accused us of having put the Do Not Disturb Sign on the door and said Housekeeping won't even knock if the sign is on the door. She told him we never put the sign out. He questioned that, but said he'd put the request into Housekeeping. By 4:00 she called back down and told them again she wants to shower and we had to leave by 4:30. Again she was told he'll put the request in. By 4:30 there were still no towels and she got dressed quickly and was unhappy (and now grumpy all night). By the time we got back to our room at 11:30, all she wanted to do was shower and go to bed. But there were still no towels. She asked me to call down to the Front Desk. I asked for the night Manager and explained what happened over the entire day. I told him I don't want a request for towels put in, I wanted him to personally bring us fresh towels within 10 minutes. He did, he apologized, and he comped 2 days of parking which means he gave us $47.00 off the bill. While we appreciated the comping of our parking, it doesn't excuse this experience.

Convenient, but room to improve
We stayed at this particular hotel because we were attending a concert at Heinz Field and didn't want to battle traffic and a crowd in downtown Pittsburgh. We arrived around 10:30 am and were able to check-in. This was perfect along with a parking lot just steps from the front door. The room was not worth the $300+ that I paid. It was "dingy" and needed a thorough cleaning. The shower curtain had mold on it. The beds had mud splatters or dirt or something around the bed skirts. I dropped a piece of jewelry and wish I hadn't looked under the bed. Dust, dropped pills and who knows what else. Dust around the TV and edge of the room. I could have complained but we didn't spend much time in the room and these issues weren't going to kill us. I will say that staying here was extremely convenient. We were able to ride the Gateway Clipper right to Heinz Field and back. Restaurants and bars are all within minutes of the Sheraton. I would stay here in the future despite the lack of cleanliness purely because of the convenience. It was easy to find and get in and out of. There is a railroad right next to the hotel but the trains didn't bother us. Then again, our room overlooked the lobby. We were not riverside.

Love this property. This check in wasn’t as satisfactory as normal because the rooms weren’t ready at check in. We came for the Steelers game and there were activities all weekend so I assume the hotel was full most of the time but by check in time they were sending all those people for check in to the bar because no ones rooms were ready, seemed understaffed and mismanaged for the size of the crowd.

Poor 2.0
Horrible experience. We arrived at 3:59 to check in and were forced to wait 20 minutes for a room because they were not ready with our room. Alex at the front desk was rude and emphasized “you’re too early for check in” when I looked at my watch it was 3:59... seriously, 1 minute. Cools story, but that was only part of his attitude. There was an event so I understand turnover is a lot harder and wasn’t even really upset that we had to wait, we drove over 2 hours to celebrate our anniversary in our favorite city, but I would’ve expected to at least get a clean room when we finally were texted. Nope, our room was filthy, used towels were folded back up, garbage can was full, glasses were clearly just washed in the sink and had film gunk all over, our sheets were covered in spray tan, the entire hotel was covered in sheets and plastic wrap. The entire staff was rude and unprofessional, from Alex at check in who acted if we should be grateful to stay there, the random employee who keyed into our room without knocking and then scolded us saying we shouldn’t be in our room yet, to the ladies at check out who were too busy with hand lotion to be bothered with checking us out. If I wanted to stay at a motel 8 I could’ve saved hundreds of dollars. The Hilton and Omni were cheaper and we should have stayed there. Completely dissatisfied with this hotel which is a shame because we’ve stayed here numerous times before and loved it. They’ve gone down hill since last year.

Nice place..
Overall it was a nice stay, we traveled 4hrs to spend time in Pittsburgh, being a nice location in a neat area to walk around right on the river (we had a river view, it certainly was beautiful). My ONLY real complaint is there was literally no free breakfast. I called to the front desk to inquire about my "breakfast included rate" - as in asking if I had to fill out my room service card, or if breakfast would be served somewhere in the hotel. I was told booking through a third-party site, it is always stated breakfast is included but unfortunately they *do not* honor this, as it's not included in their prices. We stayed across the water in another neighborhood which was cheaper, more updated & had AMAZING morning meal service included. The bartender was great, she was warm & very welcoming. The lady that helped with check in was straight to the point, very professional yet a little cold. Very good at her routine dialog so I at least appreciated that she takes her job seriously. The lady working at the Starbucks morning of our check out was simply vivacious! I think if I lived closer I would go for my regular morning cup, she was great! Parking was expensive, but it's the city. In general, knowing what I know now for what we paid, I'm not sure we would go back. It was nice, the people make it great, the view was priceless but it was a one-time lovely memory I'll hold on to & spend my money elsewhere.
